Overall, the population in Columbus is more educated than the rest of the state.

Education generally equals tolerance and understanding.

According to this list, Columbus is the #19 most educated city in the country-- Cleveland checks in at #17. So I am clear, let me repeat, I am not just speaking about having the most gays in Ohio, I am talking about having one of the largest per capita gay populations in the country. Again, I come from the persepctive of some one who has lived in every region of this country and who has traveled extensively. I would put the per capita rating up there with San Francisco, Miami and Atlanta.

So my question again is why come here? If you buy the logic it is about education and tolerance, why doesn't Boston, Raliegh or Austin have a larger gay population than Columbus? Why not Cleveland?

I think the Columbus percentage isn't much different than any other city of the same size, it is just one of those "facts" that isn't quantifiable but got repeated enough that it is accepted. A lot depends on where one travels within the city when making said judgment. If you hang out in the short North/Oak Lawn/Fitzhugh/katy Trail area in Dallas, you'd swear that Dallas has a higher ratio of gays than any other city, even though that likely isn't the case.

Truth be told, it's all a scam run by the local male population to scare away the outlanders and leave more of the ladies for us. We take turns swarming German Village and the Short North to keep up the illusion. Your turn is next Tuesday, by the way...

Then again - you won't have much luck finding available single women in Clintonville.. oO

We ate at a pub in the short north a couple weeks ago and there weren't many men in there that could keep their wrists from bending every way possible!!! :)
