First off, I honestly believe it is impossible that there is not another form of life out there. No matter how far away, it doesn't make sense that SOMETHING isn't out there. Whether it be microorganisms or another human-like life form...I believe somewhere, someplace....there is something.
I've always laughed at people who say they've spotted UFOs and claim that there are alien creatures manning these flights. To me, it's always the unintelligent, redneck type who is piss drunk when they see it; or simply someone wanting some attention. For those who don't fall in those stereotypes, I've always believed that what they saw was simply something our government and armed forces were testing out.
Now, Saturday night, around 11:15 pm I was sitting out at my neighbors' having a bonfire. I literally had just cracked open my first beer and sat down (so no, alcohol was not a factor). I looked up to the north sky, a little to the west. I saw a bright light "flicker" on out of no where. I looked to my neighbor (who is a UFO believer and watcher...also an alcoholic redneck) and said, "what the fuck is that?" Right below this bright light and a little to the right there was another dim light that looked like a star. We watched for maybe 10 seconds and both were moving in unison (we were gauging movement from the power lines above). Suddenly, the bright light completely disappeared. At the same moment, the "trailing" light began getting brighter. It got extremely bright and then about 10 seconds later, completely disappeared. When I say "bright," you can see Jupiter this time of year...brightest light in the sky. It was double that brightness for those who have seen Jupiter.
I couldn't take my eyes out of that portion of the sky. There was no sound and not a cloud in the sky. I stayed for about another 30 minutes before heading home and nothing reappeared. It was mind boggling.
I've googled it looking for others who may have seen the same thing and there were actually a few sightings Saturday night of the same exact thing (as far as Michigan and Indiana). I was convinced that I saw something "extra terrestrial," up until yesterday. I don't doubt anymore that people see things....after all, it happened to me and I know my neighbor saw it. However, I am pretty convinced that what I saw was something our government had drummed up.
Ironically, I had DVRed "Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura" from Friday night (it's on TruTV) and it was about Area 51 and UFO's. The government has publicly stated that they have said things to make people believe in out of this world UFO's to cover up testing of far advanced technology. Experts showed some designs, which included planes that are disk shaped...and other crafts that are anti-gravity and can hover. Some conspirators claim the technology derives directly from downed "UFOs" that are being dismantled and studied in Roswell.
Anyway, what are your thoughts on the matter? (Aside from the expected "you're off your rocker" comments I'll get
