Not sure on a Mac but for PC you just find the folder it is set to download to and the mp3 files are there. You shouldn't need to convert anything.

Justin.. After I download a file with Transmission.. how do I go about opening it? I found it on my hard drive it has all the songs listed on the cd but it looks like they are text files or something because when I click on them nothing happens. The files are .flac and then there is a .m3u file too but none of them will open. With limewire I could just download a song and it would automatically sync to Itunes, I am sure it is something pretty simple I am not doing but I can't figure it out. Thanks for the help!

I don't know if iTunes supports FLAC files which are a lossless file. Try playing them in VLC or something.

Correct. You should be able to find a converter to convert it to something else.
