And WHY would nobody join him IN Cleveland? Because he WOULDN'T COMMIT to the city. If he stays put, with all of the money the Cavs had to spend, they would have gotten him those complimentary pieces.

Yeah, and it wasn't like Lebron's definitive "I'm staying in Cleveland" statement gave Ferry a chance to try to BUILD something through the draft with young blood. Granted the picks may have been late 1st rounders but with "the King's" indecision, Ferry had to constantly scramble by making deals, sometimes surrendering draft picks (Jamison trade), to get Lebron his title. I'm not saying Ferry's draft track record was stellar but he really didn't get to build the team the right way, like Chris Grant will.

Getting stars to join you in Boston, Chicago, NYC, LA ect is a lot easier than having them join you in Cleveland

No doubt but if he signs a 6 year max deal and stays in Cleveland I highly doubt he remains a "man on an island." He would have had people who wanted to come play with him.

Trevor Ariza and Ron artest said that LBJ would commit to Cleveland than they would have gone there. He wouldn't thus they wouldnt commit to a 5 yr deal here when he might bolt which he did. LBJ didn't the FO any favors. Meanwhile DWade committed to FAILami and they were able to recruit 2 superstars. Glad you passive aggressive trolls forget all this.

Again, if you are saying Trevor Ariza would have been the huge FA to sign with the Cavs, that does nothing but back up claims that no one big wants to play in Cleveland.

Well I dont really remember how much you and dynasty hated on lebron/cleveland last year (I know you weren't fans), but you are definitely sucking his dick now.

Lebron should take notes from Dwight Howard on how to be clutch, he picked up two huge offensive rebounds on his teams final possession which ended up forcing Miami to have to get a 3 to tie.

and i'd like to see a link that shows getting stars to join you is a lot easier in Chicago, Boston, etc, than it is Cleveland. Its well documented that Lebron didn't try to recruit players around the time of his FA.

He didn't NEED anyone "big." For some reason since the Three Stooges got together in Miami and now EVERYONE seems to think teams need multiple "big names."

The Cavs WEREN'T that far off from winning a title. I've said this before but I'll repeat it...before Lebron quit on them in the playoffs, as they were heading into the playoffs, almost EVERY pundit (except maybe Barkley who looks like a genius with how he pegged Lebron), had Cleveland as the "best/deepest" team heading in. All I heard was "they can beat you at whatever style you want to play."

Then, they bow out early and suddenly "Lebron's supporting cast sucks...blah, blah, blah." And before ANYBODY goes into their "well look at this years team without LBJ....they DO suck" shit, this ISN'T the same supporting cast that he had last year.

also, I dont really understand what the argument is about. Nobody is denying that Lebron is one of the best players in the league, but he is a below average 3 point shooter and clearly doesn't have the balls for when the going gets tough (see Boston series, 2010).

Exactly. You'd think I was comparing his frickin skillset to Darius Miles or something. There's no denying he's one of the best if not THE best player in the game today. Dude is just NOT a leader, doesn't like to get banged on in the paint and isn't exactly clutch. That COULD change now that he's in another market but all I see from him is the "same old, same old."

You do realize he signed a contract extension at one point right? Apparently not. Gilbert surrounded him with Mo Williams and Jamison. It's laughable to think that the organization did what they needed to do to keep him. The organization let him leave, by not doing anything to keep him.

I have always been a HUGE Lebron fan. I was critical of the Cavs and Ferry because I said they weren't a championship team.

He signed a THREE YEAR extension which put Ferry on the clock, chasing his tail trying to "pieces/parts" deals together to chase ONE championship to keep him. His three year deal which, coincidently, his fellow colluders (Bosh & Wade), were the only other ones to take, did NOT allow Ferry to BUILD a team. You DO realize that Ferry turned the roster over 3x's. mostly with LEBRON'S handpicked choices, with 10 different players, right?

So, a three year extension wasn't good enough? Poor Danny Ferry, he wasn't given a fair shot to build a team around the best player in the NBA.

Lebron did the smart thing, and a thing every star should do, put pressure on the organization to build a team around him. He gave them three years and they didn't do it.

Yet, you wanted him to commit to another 5 years after knowing they didn't do anything in the previous six years he was there? After the GM and coach were fired?

Any person with any sense would have done the exact same thing Lebron did (minus the decision).

I see dynasty continues to fail on all fronts...typical.

Ferry and the Cavs did all they could given the circumstances, must it be spelled out player by player, and what was available at each move?
