I'm sick of Yuengling, I have 6 cases of it just rotting in my pantry. My in-laws give me like 8 cases everytime I see them.

I don't think it is that good. It's ok, and their Porter is cheap and good, but don't get the obsession.

It's ok. It is like Budweiser. Give me a Great Lakes over Yuengling any day.

I bought some a couple of weeks ago in Williamstown WV. Just a short hop across the river from Marietta. It tasted pretty good, seeing as how I hadn't consumed one in quite some time.

Much like Coors in the 80s, Yuengling will lose its allure and while its a good beer it wont be "OMG where did you get that?" Once everyone can get it at the local circle K

Fucking give it to me you bastard.

To people comparing it to Coors: Perhaps you're right in the uniqueness factor but that's where the comparison ends because Yuengling is at least a decent beer.

Jordo.

Nah...just a "townie". Originally from Monroe County, but I moved to Marietta after college because it was closer to work.

Can we get an AMEN? Doertmunder Gold (sp?) is one of the greatest beers around......most other Great Lakes brews are right behind.

Yuengling is much better than Budweiser. At least IMO. Also, it's much cheaper than Great Lakes so that comparison isn't exactly fair.

Dortmunder Gold is the shit. Although i think the Lake Erie River Monster is the best beer that Great Lakes makes, followed closely by Commodore Perry.

Great Lakes is pisswater compared to Yuengling. Just becauz idiots will pay an additional $1.98 for a sixer doesn't make GL a good beer.

I agree with some of this. LOL.

I think Great Lakes makes a fine brew. But it is just like all the other regional brews and is far too expensive to enjoy regularly. It's one of those "special occasion" types of beers for me.

Yuengling, on the other hand, is a regional brew that is also very well priced. And that's why Yuengling would do well if it were to expand. IMO, it's got a much better taste than Bud/Bud Light, Coors/Coors Light, and Miller/Miller Lite...but is priced right about that same spot.

I'll still buy a sixer of Great Lakes every once in awhile. But it's $7.99 a pop, and at that price, it would not be my every day beer. Last time I was back home, I took a ride over to PA and bought a case of Yuengling bottles for $20. MUCH better deal!

Commodore Perry FTW. Love that stuff. Although I do prefer Harpoon's Imperial IPA for hoppiness and strength.
