Since those Athens and surrounding areas storms of a month ago or so seem to take some off guard figured I'd get the word out.
Looks to be windy without the the t-storms but I could see a serious squall line developing and producing widespread wind damage as it races west to east across the Buckeye state tomorrow afternoon and evening.
Already a High Wind Watch for most of the state and a moderate risk for severe storms tomorrow. Pretty crazy times.

Moderate Risk basically means it's going to storm, and hard.
Be alert if in that red circle.

I certainly hope the rain comes with it. If not, these hillbilly's around here will have the majority of the fields and forest burnt down.

Me too. The thing that pisses me off is that I have 1 tree in my back yard but my neighbor to the side and behind me each have 1 or 2 trees; somehow ALL of the leaves wind up in my yard from their trees. Western Ohio has been put in the HIGH RISK category for severe storms, eastern half in MODERATE RISK.
This is very rare, and very serious. It's going to get ugly.

A receptionist in our office follows the weather avidly. She also is a really big spaz who doesn't like storms. This has been a great morning for me...at this point, I'd welcome a tornado as long as it blows me out of range of her "OMG OMG OMG I REALLY DON'T LIKE STORMS AND THIS IS GOING TO BE BAD I JUST KNOW IT OMG OMG!!!!" babbling.

To be fair, she is actually correct today in her assessment, lol. Even if it's not a tornado (though there's going to be a few of those too), it's most likely going to be windy as fuck (60 MPH+) statewide as the thing comes through.
The reason they issued the high risk is the absurdly high wind threat more than the tornado threat, though the tornado threat is elevated too.

Give her one of your special Brownies from your lunch box. She'll settle the fuck down.Heretic;533252 wrote:A receptionist in our office follows the weather avidly. Storms are one thing for sure. I always thought it would be cool to have a tornado touch down somewhere around here until it did about 5 miles away from where I live. Then I kind of changed my mind.

Oh I already lost my house to a fire once...no desire to see a tornado anywhere near me. Just a nice thunderstorm will be fine.
