With OSU losing to OU today the BCS bowls are prett ymuch set now:

NC game : SEC winner vs. Texas
Sugar: SEC loser vs. Cincy/Pitt winner
Orange: GT/Clemson vs. TCU
Fiesta: Boise St. vs. Iowa/PSU
Rose: OSU vs. Oregon/OSU winner

This is assuming Texas beats Nebraska. In the end the Fiesta Bowl will only have to decide which Big Ten team they want. I think if Cincy loses to Pitt they will be left out and not receive an at large bid.

Florida will still play for the Sugar bowl then. Is my guess.

It's already set that it'll be Alabama and Florida for the SEC Championship game. So even if they were to lose both, they'd still get that bid.

The better thing to debate is say Florida loses today and then beats Bama and both teams would finish at 12-1. This would make Texas vs. either TCU or Cincy for the national title. A texas loss to Nebraska would mean the same thing for either TCU or Cincy.

i would rather see tcu play better competition in the orange bowl. there has to be better teams to put in there besides clemson or gt.

Agreed. I'd love TCU to play in the Sugar Bowl.

I also, this is a minority opinion, but think the loser of the Oregon St./ Oregon game should head to a BCS bowl over PSU/Iowa.

The Big Ten has been awful this year while the Pac-10 has been up there with the SEC for best conference. I would rather see a good, solid Pac-10 team than a Big Ten sucking it up again in a BCS bowl game.

I understand your argument. The problem is that you have to be ranked in the top 14 to get an atlarge bid. Oregon State isn't in it right now and I loss to Oregon would probably put them between 21-25.

I would agree that if Oregon lost they would still be deserving of an at large bid, but not Oregon State. Problem is that Oregon and Oregon State do not have large fan bases willing to travel.

Looks good except for the Penn St/Iowa part. Any game they would be involved in would be over by the 3rd quarter

Penn State and Iowa have no business being in the BCS argument. The Big Ten this year is a one-bid league

GT is legit, their only loss was early to Miami when Miami was looking really good. They have a Paul Johnson-system so they don't have a typical offense, but watching them a lot this year and comparing them to other top teams, say Alabama, I'd say if they play Bama 10 times GT wins at least 5.

Of course now I said that watch them lose to UGA.

Iowa took OSU to overtime in Columbus with their backup QB. So you essentially believe the Rose Bowl will be over in the 3rd quarter as well?
Boise St. hasn't seen a defense even close to Iowa or PSU all season. Iowa or PSU would beat Boise St.

Iowa can't score enough points to compete with Boise. Boise would find away around that Iowa defense and to protect the QB; Iowa did take OSU to the wire but also had a pedestrian win over a shitty Iowa State team and squeakers over Sun Belt Arkansas State and FCS Northern Iowa

Buckeye fan here, and yes I think the Rose Bowl could very well be over by the 3rd quarter. Especially if they play Oregon. The Big 10 is very weak this year and if Tress doesn't bring some sort of creativity with him to Pasadena, things could get ugly IMO

it really could. We're not just going to be able to grind out a win in this one; we run the ball fairly well but not enough to just melt the clock away against Oregon; they'll figure out a way to load the box and stop us. I hope Oregon State can find a way to win Thurs. night

The Pac-10 has not been good at all this season.

You honestly think a 4-loss Oregon State team who wasn't a conference champ should get a bid over Iowa OR PSU?

It's a minority opinion because it's insane.

Also, GT is untested to me. They've beaten average teams from a bad ACC. They didn't do anything worth noting out of conference. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Clemson beats them and the ACC sends a 4-loss team to the BCS for a 2nd straight year (which is another reason why automatic bids are a joke).

How about a 4 loss Florida State team that took Penn State to the wire in the Orange Bowl a couple years ago? it doesn't matter how many losses you have; you win the league you get the bid that's how its set up.
