Very Stanford/Cal-esque finish to this game.

How did the referees not throw a flag on the kid hanging on the goal post after the touchdown?! LOL. You have to believe that if that penalty is enforced, the team probably misses the extra point, and PRP wins.
Still a pretty cool ending IMO.

I might be wrong, but I thought an excessive celebration penalty was only assessed to the following kick-off. I'm not sure how they rule when there is no ensuing kick-off, though.

That was edited so we dont know what was called. Im sure there were flags for the PRP team with too many men on the field or whatever the call would be. Would you have offsetting? Or after the play is over?

Excessive celebration would be a dead ball foul as the play was over the moment the touchdown was scored. My guess is in the hoopla, it was overlooked. Or, given what had just transpired, maybe the ref considered it an appropriate level of celebration? Doing that for a first down would be excessive. But, a 65-yard multi-lateral epic finish to score with a chance to tie/win was acceptable. haha

When the defending team ran on the field that would have been a penalty too. So they would have offset anyhow.

Good point. I didn't even think about the other team running on the field and that also being a penalty.
Still a pretty cool video. I feel bad for the PRP kids. LOL.

I thought that was only on a kick and if you were the kicking team. I.e PRP kicks and Butler fumbles, PRP can't advance the fumble; they get it where they 1st touched it. I'm not sure though.

Can't advance a punt block either. But a regular fumble you can.

I always thought it was that you can't advance a forward fumble. If the fumble was backwards it can be advanced.

I thought in the NFL is the backwards pass hits the ground the play is dead. I know Ive seen it whistled dead recently. Dont know about HS though.

Why would a backwards pass that hits the ground be whistled dead? A backwards pass is a lateral, and if it hits the ground it is a live ball. I'm going to have to disagree with you here and assume that the plays that you have seen recently were ruled forward passes and therefore incomplete.

I think that only applies when you fumble forwards, and as Raider Buck said, I think that is usually only on 4th down.

They wouldn't have offset. You enforce all dead ball penalties so they would be enforced in the order of occurrence.

At the 20 second part of the Video it looks like the runner is down.....
Also someone in the background you can hear a guy yelling " Get off the goal post, get off the goal post."

It was a squibb kick. The only thing I see that may or may not have been "wrong" about the clip, was that he was potentially down before he fumbled the ball. It didn't appear that he fumbled the ball forward, but to his side or backwards, meaning it wouldn't violate any rules.
As for the hanging on the goalpost, like someone else said, would be offset by the other team running onto the field.
