Well not Rayen obviously. But let's see, you're a good football player and you can pick between Ursuline, Mooney or a Youngstown city school...hmm, what would you pick? People talk about football way too often, how about the difference in the education he's getting? He isn't the only kid on Mooney's roster from his grade school either, why isn't anyone talking about him? He's a Youngstown kid and he's really good, deal with it.
I'm sure most people assume they recruited him from Florida or something lmao.

If Braylon didn't go to Mooney he could have gone to Ursuline, East, Chaney, Youngstown Christian, or any open enrollment school in the state of Ohio such as Warren Harding, Lowellville, Austintown Fitch, Steubenville, etc. But he didn't and he chose Mooney. Tough luck for the rest of those schools.

Ohio State will have 7 runningbacks on scholoarship next year. You can't get them all.

See BasesLoaded Post. Ohio State got Indiana's top RB a big physical kid B. Wells type runner. They have two smaller fast kids they got last year on scholarship. Also, they have one of PA's best athelte's WR/RB coming in Heards class. He is a a speed kid too. Corey Brown. If you counted Corey as a RB then they would have 8 on scholarship next year.kathyjane wrote: what would Ohio State see that would steer tham away from this kid? Am I missing something?

Other than Simon, Mooney hasnt sent a ton of kids to Ohio St....there's competing pipelines in that school though.
Ohio St. will get half the Glenville roster and be just fine.

As an Ohio State fan, I'd rather Ohio State got half the Mooney roster than the Glenville roster. Other than a few players, most of the Glenville guys don't live up to the hype and are nothing but average players anyways.
Simon has All American written all over him down the road. And I would have loved to get Zordich to play linebacker and any school in the country would have loved to land McCarthy. Hell, if it wasn't for his brother ND would be worse than 6-6.

I don't think he went to Nebraska. He spoke with Bo and Nebraska was further away than he was comfortable withHuskers wrote: I wonder how his visit to Nebraska went does anybody from Mooney know?

Maurice Clarett's dad Myke went to Mooney--Maurice lived around a mile or so from CMHS and went to school in another city--Warren. OSU's Corey Linsley's dad went to Mooney and he attended Boardman. Not all "star" atheletes go where we think they should go.skank wrote: Where should the Heard kid have gone to school? Rayen? I don't know CL's situation, but I have heard that Claretts dad shopped him around to the "highest bidder".

His mother lived on the south side of Youngstown--roughly about a mile from CMHS--in fact she still lives there. At the time Maurice received a green Explorer so he could drive to school in Warren. What is your point?wgh raider wrote: maurice went to austintown fitch before harding and secondly maurice lived with his mother so who cares where his dad lived??

I think CL although being Catholic ,preferred going to Boardman -and I know his dad preferred the cheapest route.skank wrote: I don't know CL's situation, but I have heard that Claretts dad shopped him around to the "highest bidder".

His dad (Clarrets) wanted him to go to Mooney as a freshman with a guarenteed starting position. The ole coach wouldnt guarentee a thing. I know some of you Mooney bashers cant believe this but I heard it numerous times in Warren. Any Mooney people out there that can back this up? He had his hand out since the minute he could.

As far as I know Coach Bucci had a policy not to play freshman(possibly making an exception for a kicker.)Not even the great Ted Bell(most likely the most talented player from this area) got to play varsity till he was a sophomore.Bluepride13 wrote: His dad (Clarrets) wanted him to go to Mooney as a freshman with a guarenteed starting position.
