I saw both games this year and I do have to say that DeSales did make some major improvements since week 2, unfortunately for the rest of DIII so did Mooney. I'm not so sure that the Gentile kid at QB is much better than the kid they used back in Sept. Just my opinion for what it's worth.
The DeSales QB, along with the entire DeSales offense played their worst game of the season. Most of that had to do with Mooney's defense which was sworming. The DeSales coaching staff could not find anything that would work.
As for the DeSales QB, he sustained a wrist injury in the first half and had a hard time holding onto the ball after that.
The killer series of events was the punt play and then fumble on the 1 yard line. I knew that for DeSales to have a chance, they would have to be within 7 at halftime. That series made that nearly impossible.
All DeSales fans and community members are proud of our Stallions. We just simply ran into a better team today. The Stallion senior class has left one heck of a mark. 36-6 record, 5-0 vs Watterson, 3 CCL titles in their 3 years at the varsity level.
Congrats to Mooney. Your team is easily top 3 in Ohio regardless of division. Also many thanks for the invite to all Stallion fans to join you before the game. Your program is nothing but class from the players to the coaches to the fans. IMO, Mooney has taken over St. X as the model program in Ohio.
