The same way you were able to watch Michigan lose 5 straight to close out the season last year.

Ups and downs.

ND has just had a lot of downs lately.

Hopefully ND can pull off the wins over Tulsa and Army to get bowl eligible.

But 6-6 in Kelly's first year is a record I can deal with it. Don't get me wrong. The loss today was completely inexcusable. But I won't be terribly upset with 6-6 and a bowl win.

And the sad part about it is that people will think it happened because "...NOTRE DAME STILL SUCKS" and will never amount to anything more than 6-6. Okay.

It's just how the game works.

Today's loss, more than anything, simply shocks me. Notre Dame had success all season stopping teams' interior running game. This game almost defies logic and unfortunately it will fuel people to say say Notre Dame is horrible. What really confuses me is Michigan fans. I mean 1) look at the ND-UM game without bias and you'd realize you shouldn't be talking shit and 2) Michigan hasn't received respect from anyone in a long time either.

Many people too will ignore matchups and see an "L" against Navy (who people stupidly think is bad or something) and assume they can't beat Utah or Southern Cal. If they come out defensively like today and have to run the spread with the second-teamers....yeah, they'll get beat soundly. But you're NEVER as good as you look, and you're NEVER as bad as you look. Everyone can calm down a little bit.

You haven't said anything of substance yet. Have you ever played football, or coached it? If one team is bigger and stronger than the other, and everything else is even, that advantage in strength and size will get bigger as the game goes along. However Navy's huge advantage was time of possession, Notre Dame's defense was on the field the entire game because of an inept offense and their advantage never came to fruition. You simply cannot play against it at a high level for long without changing other variables. In this case Navy came out in the third and made a statement.

I am 100% right, so go find a bridge.

What angers me the most about today is the play of Harrison Smith and Gary Gray in particular.

Harrison Smith just gave up on the one Navy TD, and looked like shit (as usual) throughout the entire game.

Gary Gray got burned on a deep pass play, and just didn't even make the effort to try to get to the receiver. If it wasn't for the receiver falling down, he goes for 6.

The defense has made improvements over last year...but are nowhere near where they should be to compete with the top teams in the NCAA.

haha what angers me is a trap going for fifty yards. That's high school stuff. Can I get a direct line to Diaco to ask what the fuck his game plan was? OOOHHH THAT'S RIGHT, every team does the same thing every game. Why do coaches even exist then? Jim Tressel may do the same thing every game, hence "Tressel Ball," but every other coach changes it up and tries to hide tendencies. That comment by one of the posters was one of the more asinine things I've ever read.

Right now Texas fans think their sky is falling. Alabama fans thought their sky was falling when Saban lost to UL-Lafayette his first season. Some Ohio State fans were dumb enough to think their sky was falling in 2004 when they got stomped by Iowa. One game does not mean all that much. Notre Dame got beat soundly today, and I'm pissed, but take it with a grain of salt (and some shots) and learn from it.

I drink during every ND game....and today is the first time in a long time that I haven't because I'm headed to church at 4:30 this afternoon.

I really could've used the booze today.....

I think the Tulsa game will be a shootout that could go either way. They should beat army, and lose to utah and usc

I guess Navy is a little better than I thought. And I only watched a little bit of this game, but whoever said Notre Dame is faster than Navy is just wrong. I don't know if Notre Dame is faster than any FBS team.
