If you didn't listen to the hype (specifically Peter Molyneux) then it was a good game. If you listened to the hype then it was horribly disappointing. Molyneux promises too much with his games.

No, he promises too much, then begins to take features out of his games. He's done it with Fable and Fabel II... The games look great, then you start hearing about how they "took this and that out" of the game.. Disappointing.
Fable II was a solid game, but certainly could have been so much better.
