They can easily learn to not cry and bitch about everything. It's not that hard to keep your composure in a competitive environment. Focus on what you can control... your own actions and do your best. If calls aren't going your way... deal with it.

I don't know a single high school athlete that isn't taught that. These grown "men" in the NBA have just been allowed to bitch for so long that they only know how to act that way. They will learn otherwise.

There is an easy solution for the players to deal with this new ruling.

1) Don't whine and go cry to the refs when they call a foul on you.
2) Don't whine and go cry to the refs when you feel that someone had fouled you.
3) Leave the refs alone and let them do their jobs.
4) Just quit being a bunch of little bitches and play the fucking game.

I dont really mind the players complaining. Its not like the game stops and the refs must answer all questions from players. If they dont want to answer then dont, give the player a warning about it and if the player keeps going at it then give them the T.

Yeah but its not like in other sports stars dont complain. After every deep pass in the NFL thats incomplete or complete you have the WR or the CB bitching about PI, Baseball you have balls and strikes and out/safe that gets bickered about every game(and they can talk and not always tossed) Idk about hockey because I dont watch it. But why is the NBA going overkill with this?

puts way too much power in the hands of the officials. half the games are fixed anyway, this just makes it easier to hide who they put money on.

The NBA is going overkill because the players overkilled it. Sure, every sport has people question officials, but the the NBA is on a completely different level regarding this problem. NBA is to the point where it is basically the equivalent of the pitcher, catcher, or batter getting into it with the ump regarding the location after every single pitch in MLB, or a D lineman complaining about a hold to the ref for all 40 seconds after every single play in the NFL. Neither of those sports is even remotely close to being that bad, which is why they haven't had to address it.

The NBA let it go for too long, and unfortunately the only reaction now looks like an overreaction (though it isn't one).

Overreaction my ass, I'd pay big bucks to see a ref put a superstar in his place. That would be the ONLY reason I would go to a pro basketball game.

Alex Rodriguez doesn't go bitch to an ump after every ball he fields or every pitch he takes.
Tom Brady sometimes asks for a flag when he gets knocked over, but not after every snap taken in every game.
LeBron, Kobe, any of them are up the ref's ass after every shot they take, 82 games a year.

It's not hating, it's pointing out that the NBA is in a whole different universe from every major sport when it comes to this issue.

Shit, most major league players if they strike out looking and dont agree with it complain about it yes. The only reason theres more complaining in basektball is because if its a shooting foul the player usually is over talking to the ref while the foul shots are being shot.

Once the likes of Kobe, LeBron, Garnett, Duncan, Howard, Nash reach the limit of Technicals allowed before a suspension before the All-Star break I'm sure Stern will tell them to stop so he don't lose his stars. The Refs are human too they make mistakes and call the wrong call or they'll expect contact on a play and blow the whistle in advance and then NOT expect the one whistled for the foul to at least look disgusted with the call, and with these new rules that results in a T .... Pathetic

Yes, there is some complaints in other sports... but as others have pointed out, it is just so much more prevalent in the NBA. I don't hate the NBA. I watch it all the time and enjoy it... except when grown men scrunch their face, and start bitching for 20 seconds about every other minute.

The problem is just so much more often in the NBA.
