They go to him after the season and ask him to restructure his deal. If he does, then you stick with him and look for your next guy. If he says no, then maybe you have to consider it. But you don't cut him to hand the reigns over to his brother.

I wouldnt play Jordan Palmer. I would let Carson finish the season maybe even give the last couple starts to Dan LeFevour if hes showing any signs of life and the Bengals are out of it. I then go out and draft someone and sign someone life Rosenfields, Troy Smith, or Jeff Garcia (UFL) to give you a few games or even a year while you wait for your draft pick to learn the offense.

I also forgot about the elbow injury someone brought up earlier and I think they are most likly 100% correct. His power is gone and at the time they said he needed tommy john and he wouldnt do it. I remember it was very similar to the injury Jake Delholme had in carolina. I also think mentally he is scared he might get hit in the leg again and its killing his mechanics by causing happy feet

I've been saying this for awhile. Whether it's the knee or the elbow the ball sails on him.

I really doubt that he'd do that. That would essentially make his release even easier wouldn't it? His contract is already awesome from his point of view, why restructure it so that the team can cut you with fewer long term consequences

Because he could still restructure his deal for guaranteed money or because if they cut him he might end up losing more in the long run. I really don't know, but it's something you have to ask, IMO. I really don't know how much of his deal is guaranteed.

As a Steeler fan....NOOOOOO he should not be cut!

That's a good, talented team with Palmer. With a half-way decent QB they'd be a serious championship contender.

And stop blaming the knee. Carson had a pretty good 2006 and people raved about how quickly he came back and how it didn't affect his play. He came into the league with no intangibles and as one might expect he's never improved. That simple.

He's about to become the next Jeff Garcia, journeyman QB.

Something needs to be done but unfortunately nobody on the roster is decent enough to go to. They need to draft or trade for someone pretty much asap. Carson has cost us a few too many games but his credientials of division titles will warrant him another year.

Nobody is blaming the knee and nobody is saying he is a good QB. I'm not sure why other fanbases around here don't get that. Did you bother reading the thread? Every Bengal fan has acknowledged his terrible play.
