WABC= Waynedale Athletic Booster Club wrestling tournament. It may not be Philo, but its still a very solid one. It also known as The kaderly classic, as Bill Kaderly found the tournament approx 25 years agoRed Rum;628568 wrote:WABC???
Is this a Jr. High Tournament?

Ah, the "WABC" moniker and Waynedale not being listed as "John R Lea" had me a little confused. This must be the big tourney down at Waynedale thats been around since at least 1981.
Back in the day (early 80s) the Waynedale Tournament was the biggest event most area teams wrestled in. Nice to see its still kickin'.

Hasley isn't undefeated this year. He got majored by Bresciani (Coshocton St Qualifier) earlier this season. Hasley & Beam both used to be much lighter weights who had big growth spurts, would be a good match. I'll take Beam.

Can anyone give some more detailed CIT results? I'm wondering why Meadows went 189. Looks like a great performance by the Chipps. Was CVCA like a B team?
Unconfirmed Fairless results for the huskies.
103 Young 4th
112 Gregan 2nd
130 Fortune 1st
135 Dupont 1st
140 Hershey 1st
145 Topp 1st
152 Black 2nd
160 Meek 4th
189 Schaefer 1st
Team champs
Once again not there. As provided by a red headed source.

http://www.chippewa-chipps.com All results are here. CVCA sent their wrestlers who didn't have point issues (to my knowledge). Either Meadows or Gray will be at 171, but only Gray can drop to 160.

correct, CVCA had 3 open weight classes: 103,119, and 215. Only 5 Varsity wrestler's at the Chippewa Invite: Roff at 119, wrestled 125, Powers at 135, MacLellan 145, Gray 171, and P Meadows, wrestled 189. A fourth place finish not too bad with the B team making up the majority of the line up. Young wrestler's did well here.
Tomasello, Simonelli, DeCatur, Ratay, Dobben, Havener, Utley, and Matt Meadows all DNW.

Whats going on with Smithville? I thought they had close to a whole team. The results in the DR only shows them to be wrestling in 7 or so weight classes.
Wildbear--Bend & Brush are talking about a kid from Marietta who was 26-0 last year before injury and according to Bend, overlooked by the Brakeman types. Apparently there was a possibility of this kid wrestling Beam in the Stitch Co. tournament.
Beast--Who won the Waynedale Jr. High Tournament? Actually, What I'm really wondering is how did the county programs fare teamwise?

Sad situation in Smithville, There are 8 left on Varsity, the rest all quit. Our 140 got hurt at WIT and is being cleared this week. The hard one to take was Reed Hostetler quitting?? Good bunch of kids left. Unkefer doing a good job.

That's too bad. Sad to hear it. This is a common problem in this area this year if you aren't at the major 3. Were the practices too hard? Any reasons given?
