I heard from a reliable source ( HA, HA) that Max and another player will sit out this one.

Wouldn't surprise me, and probably a smart move.

Very reliable indeed. Like I said earlier...sit Max and get him as healthy as possible for week 9 and beyond.

It can give some younger guys valuable game experience.

^Dylan Lemon will take his place at TE/DE

I imagine it'll be more like WR and LB...but you get the point.

What other player(s) is sitting out? Would that be Tre?

That's what I figured, he was hobbling around pretty good in the Ashland game but he does that every week. You just never know with him. I guess we will see how this offense runs with Mason and Matt in the backfield together.....for the whole game!

Exactly 5knots! Could be pretty exciting to see.

Well I just got off of facebook and I noticed this status on Max's wall:
Max Pirman well i had a post saying how i was out this week and my momma decided she had to come in and take it off kuz she was worried people would think i got in trouble and thats why im not playing. well no actually i can play but the coaches just wont let me or tre play this weeks so were at full go coming into the clear fork and wooster games. Thanks mom!!! you intruded in on my space once again lol
Easy solution Max, change your password! haha

What RR1 and I have been thinking going into this week.

Playing and playing effectively I am sure is the motivation for the staff to get these guys healed and rested. We need them both to be able to do the things that they are capable of. I am not a fan of seeing someone on the field who is not physically able to be "all in every play". I think this is a smart move. Madison is going to take this personally I am sure and give them a little extra. We will just have to take that chance. We win week 9 and 10 and week 7 and 8 were insignificant.

Good point, we beat CF, and then Wooster we are hosting a playoff game. This region this year has really helped us especially with how difficult our schedule is. Whats Important NOW, is getting healthy for week 9 and beyond.

I love how we are able to do this. Most high school teams would be hurt if two of their best players were sitting out a game. Not Orrville though, our coaches do a great job of getting players ready, especially young guys. Then those young guys relish that opportunity and succeed when they get their shot to play. RTR!

We beat CF and we should have a top 4 spot locked up.

Beat Madison and get a few other teams (NW, Lex, Triway) to win and we should have a top 8 spot locked up after THIS week.

Like I said...2011 preview. Lemon at TE and OLB for Max, Monheim/Davis in backfield. Wn week 9 and 10 and win the region I am pretty sure. Looks like the game with CF may also be for who gets the privilege of hosting OG week 11.

They need to be healthy so they can have more of an impact on the game against CF than they had against Ashland, I'm not putting them down they are both fine athletes I just thought they would have more of an impact on that game than they did and I'm sure alot of it had to do with injuries.

5knots, meaning the winner would play O-G, or the loser?

Max was non-existent because the Ashland offense is so quick, by the time Max got by the tackle, Fuller was celebrating a completion. The timing of that offense is very impressive, and the ability to throw the ball that quick and know that the receiver is going to be there is what made it hard for Max to put pressure on him. Injuries did limit him though, no excuses when you're out there you gotta give it your all, and I believe he was.

It is the hardest thing in the world to try and figure out how much a kid is hurting. On top of that some kids can perform at the same level whether they are hurting or not. And some can't. No one knows for sure but the athlete. He was definitely not the same energized DE he can be and I think it had very little to do with Ashland and a lot to do with the fact that his explosiveness was not there due to his pain. Could ha play this week....probably...and very well at that. Will he be that same energized hungry DE we saw come into the Triway game for CF if he sits? I bet so! Could the duo of Mason and Matt having success this week get a little competition going in the backfield and fire up a kid? I would think so. When Tre and Max are healthy and energized look out. That is what we need week 9 and after.

I meant a preview of the Red Riders 2011 backfield with the class of 2012 players.....Mason Monheim/Matt Davis. That fall football year that is different than the graduation year gets me all the time. We ae not red shirting either one of them. haha

Us historians have to deal with that all the time when talking about football. It's like talking about the winner of the presidential election, but have to keep in mind that they don't take office until the next calendar year! Soooo...you get a free pass on that, 5knots! :-).

Edit: Fixed! :-)

Talk about somebody getting fired up because of Mason/Matt in the backfield, maybe somebody will get fired up with Matt playing the strong linebacker spot. Matt has had some good games covering for Max being undersized like he is for the position.
