It looks like something someone made in Publisher in about 30 seconds to looks like something from the early 1990's.

That logo has 41 years of brand equity associated with it. It's a nice, classic logo that doesn't have a gradient or use Helvetica.

Would be like McDonalds changing their logo because it was too simple.

When i see that old logo, I immediately think of the store. When i see that new shit, I don't even know what to think.

As the old saying goes "If it ain't broke don't fix it."

The old logo is a million times better than this new one. I don't understand why they are changing it at all.

I suppose that it does, but it's simple and elegant. I guess what I meant was that the new one looks like someone was making a flier or brochure in Publisher and used a pre-made template where they just put int their company info and hit enter, and this is what it looked like in the center on the bottom of the back page, so they went with this.

This is pathetic. Gap has the money to pay an agency to create a logo for them. No self-respecting designer is going to do spec work for them.

Didn't know you had such an emotional attachment to Gap. This explains a lot.
