AWESOME JOB QUAKERS!! Way to prove the Vindy wrong!!
Like last week, a tale of two halves. Both sides very competitive in the first half--it was looking like whoever had the ball last would win. Second half--a dominating performance from Salem. Congrats to Zach Penick for setting the school record for receiving yards in a game with 220. Trent Toothman was an animal--especially on that run of about 40 yards with the Quakers pinned very deep. Mike King was a beast on defense. Everyone contributed tonight.
Keep your heads up Campbell. You've got a good team with some scary talent. Good luck the rest of the way. Always enjoy playing the Red Devils and we'll see you in John A. Cabas Gymnasium for hoops this year. (I think it's early in the season this year)
GO SALEM! BEAT STRUTHERS!!

Good job Salem Stop us in the second half. Campbell did not adjust at all in the second half on defense. they just got blown away by toothman. I'm having a hard time with how the game was called in the second half on both sides of the ball. Salem should go far into the playoffs. good luck the rest of the way you deserve this win as far as I'm concerned. I don't understand why they went away from what they did on offense. and they still keep #7 and 25 on the side line. Am i missing something. & is faster the Ja'les. they better fix the defense soon. or they will not get far into the playoffs at all. Again Salem good game and a good win for you r team.

campbell proved they can play with this team...then they shot a blank in the second half. we got out muscled. toothman abused us. nothing to be ashamed of...im worried about the play calling on defense, why didnt we drop more guys. but i think the bottomline was we couldnt get any pressure on toothman...they were too big n strong. well be fine...it mite be a good loss...but girard looms in the near future.

Great win for Salem over a very good Campbell team. The Quaker defense simply rose to the challenge in the second half, pitching a shutout. Toothman had a monster game accounting for over 400 yards and it was good to see Penick have a big game. Credit the coaches as well for the adjustments that helped turn things around. Good luck to Campbell the rest of the way.
Go Quakers !!

Congratulations Salem. Toothman was everything that we expected. Kind of reminds you of tebow. Campbell played well in the first half, but got worn down by the bigger opponent.
Now we get to see the character of this team. Do we fold or do we come back better. Champion will not be a pushover. Good luck. You can do it.

Congratulations to the Salem Quakers on the victory. Toothman was once again a man among boys out there. I am sure Penick will remember his record setting effort for the rest of his life. Great job. Despite losing, I really enjoyed the atmosphere at Reilly Stadium last night. A great crowd in a great place. Kudos to our friends at Salem. Hopefully Campbell and Salem can continue playing after Salem leaves the AAC. For Campbell, we have to put the loss behind us and build on what we need to improve on. We need to get back on track against a Champion team that can bite us and really hurt our playoff and conference championship hopes if we are not ready to play.

Salem knocked them down, and like oldschool posted, we will now see what kind of character this teams has. My two cents: the offensive playcalling particularly in the second half was terrible! How the hell does it take almost 3 full quarters before you get Bledsoe into the gameplan! Also, if they keep riding Ja'les like they have been, how much is he going to have left come the postseason? Give the kid a freakin break once in a while. You have Ray and Smith on the sidelines, USE THEM!!!!!!
Note: Lester has to learn to throw the ball away sometimes. You can't "shake" every defender all the time, live for another down.
For as bad as the second half was, this loss doesn't kill their season. It wasn't a conference game, plus M.R., S.R., and Brookfield all won, so they did pick up second level points. Champion is next, conference game, 4 wins. Don't get caught looking ahead to the Girard game, go out and smack Champion!

Unfortunately it looks like this might be the last time these two play for awhile. With Salem moving to the NBC and the non-conference next year being LaBrae, United, and Niles it'll be at least a year before we meet again.

Hearing a rumor that jales is hurt? any truth to it???? also why are we being stubborn by not switching our corners on their best playmaker? do we really think that all our corners can watch their best guy?

Sonny everything you said I sit and wonder about. First Toothman is without a doubt one of if not the best player in the AAC.......Period, regardless of tier. The kid makes everyone around him outstanding. Congrats to Number 10 on an outstanding game as well.
Getting back to Sonny's comments....here is one more question I would ask in an interview......Explain to me what on God's Green Earth you are doing putting your starting QB in the game at defensive back with 2 minutes to go in an obvious loss. Letlow comes out hurt and you put your offensive three year starter in the game to risk an injury in a game that we clearly were going to lose why? He had no business in there at that point in time. Number 7 and number 25....I am completely lost.
Plenty left to play for and Champion now becomes "huge"....upgraded from "big" a week ago. Can we try not to run Ja'les 38 times? Just wondering.

Erased my post. Not worth it.
Toothman is a man and makes everyone around him outstanding. Player of the year regardless of division in the AAC. Hands down....don't bother arguing it.
Devils, it's up to you. Quit....or realize you have alot left to play for. Champion game looms Huge now more than ever.

Girard
Newton Falls
Struthers

EL, United (assuming the contract is renewed), Niles (assuming Niles is a 2 year contract) is a pretty good non-conference schedule for 2012... decent county teams and an old MAC foe.
Is there a week that we haven't played EL in yet? It was week 3 when I was in school, week 10 for a while, looks like week 1 in 2012, it danced around a lot before I ever got to HS too.

Salem played the most complete game they played all year, if we look as good as we did in the second half Friday, even the Quakers biggest question mark, Lakeview, shouldn't be too much to handle.

I hope you're right. Lakeview beat Hubbard; that worries me.
