Like a lot of hip hop, sampling is a big part of dubstep. Some is made from scratch.
This track isn't that new, but I just discovered the video....not bad. Rusko is all over the place right now.

For anyone that is into electronic music and wants to know more. There are many different sub genres of techno/electronic. "Dubstep" is a certain genre of electronic. A lot of posts in this thread contain many kinds of techno/electronic music. For example, the post that I quoted here is not "Dubstep" music. The first three videos in this post are "Hardstyle" techno, a genre known for the famous dance called the Melbourne Shuffle that can be done to any hardstyle song. Hardstyle is my favorite genre which is why I quoted this post as an example.
Just saying this so people who don't know as much about this type of music won't judge "Dubstep" based on what's posted here because a lot of this stuff is not Dubstep.

Another group that I think is great at Hardstyle, and we'll stick with the Qlimax setting:

The song is kinda meh.
Having Skrillex and Nero together, I thought it would be better.

Skrillex showed up in a best buy commercial I saw last night. Also Alan Cox plays lots of dubstep on cleveland radio, the phone screener has a rock/dubstep band as well. This stuff makes the work day go by fast.

to me its like if they didnt come up with a reason to make it new genre, it never would have got popular.SportsAndLady;780677 wrote:Dubstep is the gayest fucking music

I snagged the new Bassnectar album last week. I'm not in love with it, but it has a few decent tracks. Dubstep is hit or miss for me. I really like some of it and other times I can't stand it. One thing for sure....its definitely on the rise.
