I'm a huge prog house guy, but I dig some dubstep. Its rather easy to mix....not sure I'd be feelin it though if I heard it in a club.

I like Caspa, Datsik, and Borgore to name a few.

Dub is huge in Australia and the UK....its slowly gaining here. Not so much in Ohio, but I have some friends in Baltimore that rave about it.

Here is my mix site....give a listen if you get some time. www.soundcloud.com/clukas

i dont really like the raw dub that comes out of the UK but Rusko, Pretty Lights and EOTO work some pretty good dub into their setlists. Hell even Umphrey's Mcgee has done some dubstep live.

Some of these are really cool. Sounds like some of the house mixes, dance beats from the early 90's. Yes, I am old, somewhere in the 40's but I appreciate good music when I hear it.

Let me just clarify that I never liked club music anyway, so this to me is just an extension.
But, there's probably alot of younger folks who don't like classical or some opera like I do.

It takes all kinds :)

Mostly I was being facetious, but I still don't understand the difference between techno, dubstep, electronica, trance... ect.

Most of it has to do with BPM (beats per minute) and the actual composition and structure of the track. Wiki is a nice resource that breaks each genre down.

The main error that people make when they hear electronic music is like "ohhh sweet thats techno." No....techno is its own separate genre, thats really not hugely popular compared to house and trance. Is dark and "industrial" sounding.

Noob here but what would you classify Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Daft Punk as?

Those groups are all over the place. I'd say electronica, but they have some house in there along with breakbeat.

btw Daft Punk is one of my favs. I really want to see them live.
