When it comes to college football there are few, if any, teams that can compare to the quite possibly the greatest college football program in the country, and in college football history.

This thread is not needed, but you have to admit when you're talking about being THE elite school in the country, what better benchmark than to use Ohio State?

I get tired of Ohio State fans thinking any team worse than theirs is terrible, and "irrelevant."

Very rare occurance. Stop using the internet as your guide. At my workplace we have a quite a few fans of other teams, Notre Dame, Michigan, Penn St and few SEC fans. We talk football quite a bit and it is a very rare occurance to hear a Buckeye fan say that those teams are irrelevant. Now here online where people can basically troll and try to stir up a reaction then yes. Mostly that is done by the immature just trolling.

I also talk football as the high school games and NEVER hear stupid comments such as I read online.

Immature teenagers hiding behind a computer, whose goal in life is to make a name for themselves by casting aspersions in a sports chat room. A pitiful existence.

when you think about it OSU only plays one good opponent a year. so its not that amazing. when i think back what FSU did in the 80's and 90's , racking up like 15 consectutive top 5 finishes . that was pretty amazing. i dont know if that could be done again.

Ohio State has a great program. There are other great programs, too. These things come in cycles, so perhaps a little bit of humility would be warranted. It wasn't that long ago that the shoe was on the other foot.

I'm obviously a huge OSU fan, but I can honestly say I've never bashed Michigan or Notre Dame. Fact of the matter is, programs like ND & UM will never be irrelevant to college football, as they are two of the historic programs in the country. If they were irrelevant we wouldn't be talking about them at all. Like FFT said, it's a cyclical thing. There will be a day when OSU doesn't have the success they are having right now, so OSU fans should enjoy this with class, and just know that they are seeing something pretty special with their team. I love to talk college football, and it would be nice for me to be able to post about UM or ND without the next post being a shot at OSU. It works the other way to. If a UM or ND fan posts something relevant and non-trolling, the next post doesn't need to be bashing either of the schools. I don't understand why you can't just make a critical, non-bashing post without being attacked for it. I personally don't care if someone disagrees with me, but in the spirit of good conversation, relay that disagreement in an informed, educated way.

I agree, My point was to the ones who bash there own team for not being Ohio State along with the few on here who constantly call every other team trash. Another point is people look down on other Ohio University's because they are not good in football. Football is not everything and people need to realize that.

I knew exactly what you meant, but there are a lot of dummies on here.
