According the Kevin from the OABGC, there were around 850 last night. Could have fit about 1200 including floor seats, but the westernmost section on each side was taped off.
Saw lots of familiar faces.....and Coach Knight talked about a lot of different people. Can any of the older Rider faithful talk about Warner Harper? Coach Knight called him one of the greatest athletes ever to come through Orrville.
I'm sure nobody is against naming the gym after Coach Knight, but shouldn't there be similar recognition for Coach Smitty?

I played in the 06 game in Ashland when both teams were 6-1 going in. The stadium was so loud you couldn't hear yourself think and the Ashland players were very arrogant. Plus with our luck with officials we had horrible refs for the game too. Gotta overcome adversity though.

If the Wooster defensive coordinator had a clue he would've used at least one safety and thrown some junk defenses in there. Rush three, drop eight or whatever. Make Fuller run and punish him everytime he does. Enough about that though, you guys are right...Wooster surprised me also and had a very legit shot to win that game in the 4th quarter without their best player. The Ashland fans and teams arrogance is running wild, would be nice to see you guys knock them down a peg or two. But the game is at Ashland...so we know how that could go.
Orrville over Mansfield in this one, but it won't be a total blowout. Good luck the rest of the way Riders.
HEY CCROLLY! STOP WHINING ABOUT THE ASHLAND GAME!!!!! WOW, I CAN'T STAND A SORE LOSER!!!

I was at the event with Coach Knight last night. Would've been cool to finally meet some of you. Maybe another time. Anyone else starting to feel a Orrville/Genoa playoff rematch?

Naturally, BRF knows about Warner Harper, but not from his playing days (mid '50's) but later on. I'm sure that Flash knows about him, too. He was strong and fast, 3 sport letterman (which back in the day meant football, basketball, baseball). Averaged ten yards a carry and had a tryout with the Indians. Member of the initial group of our HOF. The story goes that Knight refused to accept his own nomination until Harper was nominated. And guess what?......yes, you are right!

How can this thread get any better? We have upcoming game talk, bickering between Generals and Arrows, and Bobby Knight talk. So....why not add in Genoa, too?

Genoa rematch?
It's almost a sure thing they go 10-0...9-1 at worst and end up with a top 4.
We SHOULD finish in the top 4....but who knows what happens. We WILL finish top 8 unless we implode.
So the rematch would be at their place in round 1, or at a neutral site in round 2....I dont see us finishing ahead of them unless we run the table.
Either way....I'd love it. There'd be no love lost....just the way it ought to be.

Warner Harper ? Did I play with him? No he was before my time, but I've definitely heard the name as young as high school when I played. I knew of a lot of the people Coach talked abouit last night like Harve, Ernie Demlow, Shonkweiler, Tustan and Dave Knight. That hour and forty minutes slipped by in what seemed like a few minutes. Coach stayed and signed autographs except for a few things (2) he wouldn't sign. But he was gracious and offered to sign other things for the ones he declined.

Please keep them on the region 14 thread, it's bad enough with general and titan fans sneeking in here

Doesnt seem like a fanbase that you can have an intelligent discussion with. Especially after they down whatever is in those cups during pre and post-game tailgating.
