Great player? Yes. But he is an idiot for refusing to play because he was coming off the bench. He doesn't want to be a team player, he wants it to be the AI show. I'm not gonna hate on him, definitely a hall of famer talent wise, but he doesn't seem very bright. And he definitely isn't retiring "like a boss" he is retiring because no one wants him as a starter and he is a baby about coming off of the bench.

He'd still be playing on a very good team imo if he would swallow some pride and come off the bench. I guarantee that a team like Cleveland would take him if he had a better attitude about coming off the bench.

Yea, people who let their hatership get in the way of them saying he's not a first ballot HOFer are pretty comical.

Also, there is no way he is over 6 foot. None.

Actually, I think he could start at the 2 for Cleveland.

Mo/AI/LBJ/JJ/Shaq

West/Parker/Moon/Andy/Z

Then of course you can use varying line ups as well..

I've heard some rumors that Cleveland has actually looked into adding AI, not sure how legit they are, but it's definitely something to think about. Especially with West and his issues.

Iverson is basically a better scoring version of west, less defense though. If I were a Cavs fan I would be all for adding him.

And Chuck just said that ESPN has retracted it's statements that he was retiring. I haven't seen this anywhere.

AI will be in a uniform come playoff time, there is no doubt in my mind.

Stephen A basically said he's more so "pissed" off that no team believes he can still start.. Not the exact words, but it basically summarizes it up pretty well..

He also said all it will take is a team like Cleveland, LA, Boston, etc, to come knocking...

I definitely would take a chance with a 1 year deal..

Main reason why? He's a true scorer who can create on his own... We need another one.

Lol and thats logical thinking Ltrain....but you know 90% of the Cleveland faithful would start their own thread a piece about how much of a thug he is and omg i cant believe we signed him ect.

Iverson is a great player and is a first-ballot HoF guy. Just a phenomenal scorer for too long a time. Might not have been the best teammate or anything, but a great player.

If he does wind up being retired, it's because he simply refuses to accept any role than what he imagines for himself. It's not because he doesn't want to drag out his career, it's because he subscribes to the mentality of "There might not be an 'I' in team, but there is a 'me'!"

If he comes back, it'll be him choosing to compromise in order to have a legit chance to get a ring. That's why I agree with LTrain he could wind up with the Cavs. He'd have value to them due to West being a nutcase. They're on the short list of teams with a legit shot at the championship.

As a Cavs fan, I like the thought of AI in Cleveland but I wonder if Shaq/AI/Lebron could be kept in the same locker room. I honestly think that Shaq was only a headcase around Kobe but mostly due to Kobe. I think AI would have a reality check if in Cleveland knowing "Hey, I'm not the #1 player in this room and never will be but there are guys around me that will give me a ring." I would definitely flirt with the idea if they can get a 1 year contract out of him.

As a player, I might really enjoy playing for him. I mean, it's a pretty good gig to just show up for the games. You certainly would never have to go to practice.

I love how a bunch of people are coming out and saying that AI shouldn't retire, but nobody wants him on their team.

And what in AI's past makes you think that he would ever think/say this. Iverson is going to chuck up 25-30 shots a game and dominate the basketball when he's on the floor. That is Iverson`s MO, always has been, always will be! As a Cavs fan, do you want AI taking the basketball out of LeBron's hands? IMO, Iverson is not the type of player to take an established team over the top.

If he realized he wasn't the #1 on the team, he wouldn't take 25-30 shots. In Denver, he thought he was above Melo. In Det, he thought he was better than Rip. There is no way he thinks he is better than the GOAT.

I know he's not better than LeBron. You know he's not better than LeBron. But if you think that in Iverson`s mind, he doesn't think he's better than Lebron, then you haven't paid much attention to his actions the past couple of years. Iverson won't allow himself to play second fiddle to anyone, Melo, LeBron, Kobe...anyone!

Lol He would know hes not as good as LBJ. When he played with Melo, Melo wasnt 1/2 the player he is now IMO and wasnt a leader. Who else did he refuse to play 2nd fiddle to? Rip Hamilton and Mike Conley Jr....understandable that he didnt want to play 2nd fiddle to those 2

I think Iverson would be a great fit for the Cavs since Mo and Shaq are too inconsistent to keep the offense afloat when LeBron is on the bench. The guy still knows how to score and is hungry for a championship. His defense would be fine because like Mo, any player's defense improves in Mike Brown's system.
