Mom’s best ….

What is your mom’s best cooked meal?

My mom passed away a few years ago … she was a very good cook, that is where I learned to enjoy good cooking and how to cook. (Very little of the recipes where written out everything was in her head) little of this and little of that

My mom’s Beef Stew was the best …

Easily her Fried Chicken.

She is a great cook though. Never really noticed it until I would go eat dinner at friends houses and the food was so much shittier.

My sister also makes some great Italian dishes.

Word on the street is my mom makes excellent shredded chicken, chicken & dumplings and meatloaf. I don't eat any of them so don't ask me.

I like her roast and potatoes.

Homemade Mac and cheese. My mom wasn't that great of a cook but we never went hungry.

My mom is a mean cook so there isn't much that she makes that isn't great. My favorites are probably her roast with potatoes, carrots and onions. The meatloaf is also top notch.

My mom's lasagna is heavenly. Really, I have never found lasagna that matches hers. Growing up she would make a boatload of it and we would munch on it for days. Lasagna is often better re-heated so that made it even better.

To throw a shout out to the in-law's, my father-in-law makes great French Toast. Other than grilling, its the only other food he makes.

My mom is a nice cook and pretty much everything she makes is good. My favorites are probably chicken tetrazzini and peanut butter chocolate fudge cake.

Definitely her meatloaf. She puts ketchup on top of hers also, making it great for sammiches the next day!

She only made 3 things, tuna noodle, johnny marzetti, and hamburger helper so I'd say tuna noodle.

Veal Marsala - and about a half-dozen other Northern Italian dishes.

Mom and Dad lived in Italy for a year when Dad was in the Army (his draft notice was waiting when they came home from their honeymoon - but at least he didn't wind up in 1953 Korea like most of his boot class :( ). They rented a room from a family just outside Turin - the grandmother took Mom under her wing and taught her all about real Italian food.

My mom was born with no sense of smell, I think, since she never could smell anything while I've been around. Anyway, her lack of being able to smell things led to her lack of being able to taste things. I can't think of anything she cooked as being all that tasty to eat. Kind of sucked.
