Reds look to avoid the sweep and try to get some momentum when they return home for a 7 game homestand w/ Pittsburgh & Arizona... With St. Louis also struggling getting a couple wins now would be huge later.

Todays Starters:

Jason Hammel ( 10 - 7 ) 4.25 ERA Vs. Travis Wood ( 5 - 2 ) 3.19 ERA

Reds Lineup:

Stubbs 8
Phillips 4
Votto 3
Rolen 5
Gomes 7
Hernandez 2
Heisey 9
Janish 6
Wood 1

Wood will get us off the skids and send us back to GABP where we sweep the home stand. Yep.

I can't wait for this Rockies team (and CarGo for that matter) to crash back down to earth.

Have you seen CarGo's Home/Away splits?

Home: .394 AVG .441 OBP .795 SLG 25 HRs 66 RBI
Away: .288 AVG .310 OBP .450 SLG 7 HRs 34 RBI

It's been a while since anyone's had that kind of home/road disparity for Colorado, isn't it? I know when they were a new organization people talked about that all the time with guys like Dante Bichette, but at least I hadn't heard much made of that recently.

Damn, those splits are absurd. I've heard an argument against Votto that he's only good because he plays in GABP, but his splits are pretty much even. He's actually a little better on the road if I remember correctly.

Pretty sure thats why if it came down to it, Votto would get the MVP nod over CarGo.

Votto actually has 16 HRs at home and 16 on the road. AND a MUCH better batting average on the road.

Travis Wood is solid so far. He needs to stay sharp, this 5-0 lead might as well be a 1-0 lead at Coors Field.
