Looking back, it was dumb for VaTech to go for 2. If they score a TD here they are only up one score. If they kick the PAT and score again, its a 2 possession game no matter what.

One thing seems clear at this point. Either Boise State is not really #3 in the country or Va Tech is a lot better than most people seemed to think, including myself.

Va Tech is pretty good, always have been but can never get over the hump. Always wins 10 games or so.

I'm hoping VaTech at least gets a field goal here. It would suck for the game to come down to a missed FG by Boise...

just the drive when it was 17-0 was big

It either keeps you within a FG of tying if Boise scores again...or forces them to go for two to make you score a TD. Right move.
In addition to forcing Boise to score a TD in the first place.

Yah I think the 3 points is huge there. Even if Boise State drives down and scores a TD all Va Tech needs is 3 to tie it back up.
