Ill just bet you know these relatives or whatever . Sure . I cant believe you and that Model person are exploiting an innocent kid with a problem on a Big Red football thread for your own selfish reasons . nah I believe it . You want to sling mud . Ill bet neither of you ever had the guts to play this great game but Ill bet you were always sitting at the girls table and talking about what that person was wearing or other scandelous crap. What a joke and again I took the bait.holdingout;478288 wrote:Talking to some relatives of this child, The Steubenville Administration threw this child and his family under the bus. Plain and simple. Parents are happy where this child is attending school now. Shame on Steubenville City Schools for acting in this manner.
You really have some reading comprehension issues don't you? Show me in the article where it states the school system "couldn't help this young man"! Like I said earlier, it appears to me that the parents and the school system simply disagreed on whether the student should be held back another year or move ahead but be placed into special education. That much is very clear from the letter, but we don't have the school systems side so it's impossible to draw any conclusions.Art Modell;478483 wrote:This was only brought up because everytime Big Red is accused of recruiting the usual Reno tin soldiers that tow the company line fans(fwk, mow, waradmiral) say it's because of the education that they receive at Big Red. To hear them talk about it, Big Red offers more classes and better facilities than Ohio State. But yet they couldn't help this young man. Just wonder if things would've been different if this kid was a football player? RRR
So maybe the "the greatest school in Ohio" does know what they're doing!!!How Are Pervasive Development Disorders Treated?
Because children with pervasive development disorders have a range of symptoms and abilities, a plan of therapy must be developed with the child's specific needs in mind. The treatment plan -- or more appropriately, a program of intervention -- will address the child's needs at home and at school. For that reason, intervention planning is a cooperative effort of the parents, health care providers, teachers, and others who may be needed to provide services, such as counselors, social workers and occupational, physical, or speech therapists. The plan aims to promote better socializing and communication, and reduce behaviors that can interfere with learning and functioning.
A plan of care for a child with a PDD may include:
Special education: Education is structured to meet the child's unique educational needs.
Behavior modification: This may include strategies for supporting positive behavior by the child.
Speech, physical or occupational therapy: These therapies are designed to increase the child's functional abilities.
Medication: There are no drugs to treat the PDDs themselves. Medications may be used, however, treating specific symptoms such as anxiety (nervousness), hyperactivity, and behavior may result in injury.

I just find your arrogance funny.....I mean how old are you? This topic of a special needs child being turned away from SHS really has nothing to do with football, so why even entertain the poster with a response? But oh no you're just your friendly niehborhood forum troll, and the same goes for the individual who tried to connect BR football with a special needs child that got turned away from a Steubenville city school..... I mean really?...I could poke all kind of holes in the character of Reno and BR football in general, but you know what?....I could really care less about SHS Football......Not my school and not my team
