I still worry that if the Reds get a decent lead (or possibly regardless of the score) Carpenter will take matters into his own hands and purposely drill one of our players.
Is LaRue really out for the season for being kicked in the face....he always seemed like a tough guy persona who would play regardless......OR is this just an easy out for the Cards not to play him?
Might be a good game to have Corky catch.

It would be nice to knock the snot out of Carpenter. Dudes a douche. Carpenter yelling at Brendan Ryan because his defensive positioning led to a run (in a blowout in which Carpenter was dominating) told me everything I need to know about him

Homer goes 3-0 on Holliday to lead-off the 2nd and he ends up getting a double, but then Homer does a good job getting a K, ground-out, and pop-up to be unscathed on the scoreboard!

After the lead-off double, Homer does a nice job of not trying so hard to keep the shut-out that he risks giving up multiple runs in the inning, and finishes the 5th with the Reds still leading(2-1).

Only real quick Inning for Carpenter there in the 6th .... Bailey has to buckle down here in the 6th and save this lead & hoping Carpenter only goes 7

Masterful job by Homer of pitching to Holliday with two on and two out. Holliday was lucky to stay alive fouling off two pitches before the mistake pitch which went out for a 3 run HR. Bailey didn't want to throw the slider that Hanigan wanted and thought he could get him out with the fastball down and away and he got too much of the strike zone.
