I was mistaken. I was looking at the Beanpot. I don't know why I was only looking at the Beanpot tournament. I meant to look at the NCAA Hockey championships.

And no I don't follow hockey, I actually hate it. I just saw that and thought it was crazy.

What a fucking choke by Louisville at the end. How do you not score that with the goalie down?

Definitely should have scored with the goalie down and not on goal there. Hell, if he puts it anywhere but directly at the Akron defender that's a goal.

^true, but Louisville also had a lot of things go there way as well. Their goalie played a great game.

LOL at Louisville player getting nervous and hitting that straight at the Akron defender.

Congrats to Akron. They were the best college soccer team I have ever seen in person (when I saw them/announced them at BGSU).

True, but if the dude hit it in the air or anywhere but directly at the defender then the game goes to OT. His team is beating the shit out of him now, guaranteed.

Agree that it was a tense last minute of the game and the player for Louisville did hit it right at our guy. Blair Gavin choked in PK's to lose it for us last year when he sailed his shot over the goal completely. It happens, but congrats to the Zips! Lots of guys are going to be back again next year with another top recruiting class on its way in 2011 and we are off to a great start in recruiting for 2012 as well.

One last update for the national champs till the MLS draft. 7 of Akron's 11 starters from the national championship are going pro.

Two seniors are heading to the MLS combine, Chris Korb and Anthony Ampaipitakwong.

Five underclassmen were signed by Generation Adidas - Darlington Nagbe (probable #1 pick), Kofi Sarkodie, Perry Kitchen, Michael Nanchoff, and Zarek Valentin

Sad to see so many go but it just speaks volumes to the program as all 7 are expected to go in the first half of the first round. Will be cool to see 7 of the first 10 picks be from the same school.
