1. How do you know what's worse? Just like I can't say that the guy having to put up with the extreme moods/grouchiness of the woman is worse than what she goes through, because I've never experienced what she goes through. You have never experienced being a man putting up with a woman who really "dishes it out" during her time of the month. In my opinion, yeah, the woman has it worse, but no one can really say for sure, except for possibly lesbians?

2. If you don't have sympathy for guys, I wonder what you would think if a guy said "I have no sympathy for girls during their period because they just take the physical pain and transfer it to us as emotional pain". Its not very empathetic for sure :). Now, with my wife I try to take care of her as much as I can and be understanding in that time, and typically when she's done she will apologize for being grouchy, we understand its not fun for either of us and we try to be as empathetic as we can with each other.

I got no problem doing it during "that time". If a woman does, thats cool...we'll just implement the head rule. As in, if you can't be normal, then give me head (this also applies to other situations).

So women, answer this please. My wife is on "the shot". There are no bloody periods or justifiable mood swings as a result. Is this the standard for this method and.....wouldn't that be "problem solved" (for all the whining)?

I live with two other women that have periods (and actually had 6 female roommates at one time) so I do know about mood swings and grouchiness. They don't take it out differently on my stepdad than they do on me. So yes, I have experienced it and it's not as bad as being on your period for up to 7 days.

The shot comes with a lot of side effects and isn't appropriate for everyone. Two of my close friends were on it and both had nothing but problems. It made me never want to try it even though it would mean less periods. I have looked into the pills that have the same effect...4 periods a year.

I'm sorry, but staying in the same house/roomates with another female on a period is not the same as being in a live in relationship with said female on her period. I'm sure there are many things you don't see/hear behind closed doors.

I know for a fact I see "more" of it when my wife is on than what she gives to anyone else (family, kids, etc), its just natural habit to "vent" on someone close to you.

That may be true for your wife but it isn't for my sister. She is a big bitch to everyone equally (I still love her, though). If anything she does vent more to me than our parents so I get the brunt of it.

Oh yeah, and one other thing I've always found interesting, not saying anything is right/wrong, just interesting.

You could kick a guy in the nuts, or if he has a nagging injury that constantly cramps up or whatever and he won't take it out or act "grouchy" (since thats the PC word we are using) to his wife/GF.

Just difference in the sexes I guess.

And I guarantee if your sister was married, her husband would get the "brunt of it" instead of you, its human nature to vent on the one closest to you, that you trust the most.

I disagree. My stepdad had some pain issues a few years ago and he was intolerable to be around.

Right. That's exactly what I am saying. I am the closest to her so I get the most "venting". Our rooms share a wall and we share a bathroom. So for this moment...I do know what it's like to have to put up with a woman that is on her period.

And she is a lesbian. So when she lives with a girlfriend I will ask her this exact question and see what she says.

But at the same time you're already predisposed to how your sister acts when she's both on and off her period so if you say she's a bitch all the time then you're not going to necessarily notice a difference in behavior.

Like Jmog, I'm not trying to say that what guys deal with is worse, but like him, you really can't say at all that you know what it's like, just like I can't say I know what it's like to be on a period.

She is not a bitch all the time. She is a bitch when she is on her period. So yes I notice the difference.

Do I understand what it's like to be a husband dealing with a wife on her period? Obviously not. But I have dealt with women on their periods and I have a fairly good idea about how they vent/bitch/whine/act. Men can never understand whatsoever what it's like to have a period.

I never said women didn't have a good excuse for being grouchy, just said that its funny that supposedly guys aren't aloud to complain when we have to put up with the "grouchy".

I ask myself that everyday. ;)

Breakthrough bleeding and spotting, weight gain, sore chesties. That can happen with any form of BC but my friends had far worse symptoms than I ever did on the pill.
