I was surprised at how bad Marshall looked. I figured they'd put on a much better showing than that

I knew Urban Meyer and Earle Bruce were still very close friends, but I never knew until the game that Earle's grandson Zach Smith from Dublin went to UF and coached for Meyer the past few years as a grad asst. He is now the WR coach at Marshall, thanks to his UF coaching connection with Doc Holliday. Doc's son Cade played for UF, graduated last year.
