it's all good--if it makes someone feel good about themselves, then so be it.
all I know is that I can't wait for the season to begin, and then the fun will really start!!!
(and look,NO capital letters,NO spaces after punctuation marks, and a double hyphen thrown in for fun--in PARENTHESES no less!!!)

I'm curious to see jmog's numbers after final NFL roster cuts. LSU is a surprise at the top of the list.

The website I used was NFL.com I believe, so I'm sure it will update by game 1/53 man rosters. Maybe I'll run them again at that time if I remember.

Im actually stunned that LSU is on top also. I see that # dwindling in the next few years. LSU has high recruiting classes every year, but they arent getting used properly.

Thanks, I found this. I might have time Sunday the 5th
August 31 — Rosters cut down to 75 player maximums.
September 4 — Rosters cut down to 53 player maximums.

Once they cut the NFL rosters to 53, I'm pretty sure you'll still see the SEC leading the way.

Well yeah, right now there are about 386 NFL players from the SEC and 333 from the B10 (12 vs 11 teams and the difference in average).
The SEC would have to have 23+ players cut MORE than the B10 to drop below the B10 in average. It doesn't take a math genius to figure out that the "2" advantage in average is pretty significant.

Pretty sad that the SEC is still dubbed the best conference in college football. Outside of Florida, Bama, and LSU, all the other teams are mediocre at best. Sounds to me like its very similar to I don't know, the Big Ten? The Big Ten has Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, and Iowa. That doesn't even count a depleted Michigan squad who's usually very good, another random team popping up from under the radar(example: Illinois), and adding one of the all-time great programs in college football history, Nebraska. All this and the Big Ten still blows every conference out of the water in academics(sans Ivy League), and they actually play by the rules instead of trying to hoodwink the system with shady coaches and their tactics.
It must be nice in the SEC, play 4 powder puff cake schools outside of conference(all in the south), and win 2 of your conference games against any of their bottom feeders(Vandy, Ole Miss, Miss St, Arkansas, South Carolina, Tennessee, Auburn, or Kentucky), and BAAM you're bowl eligible with the easiest bowl schedule in college football(most played in the south as well). What other conference gets to play Utah and Hawaii for a BCS bowl game?
And even with all the edges handed to the SEC, they STILL have a losing record overall against the Big Ten all-time, and are 14-15 against the Big Ten in the past decade. What a joke. I'd love to see an SEC school have a home and home with Ohio State, because we all know at worst OSU would be 1-1, because there's no way in hell they are losing in the shoe, and you can take that to the bank.

Fortunately, the SEC gets to play OSU on occasion. 9-0 or 0-9 for you.

I will add some food for thought on the statistics for number of players in the NFL.
Half the Big East (Cincinnati, Louisville, South Florida, and UConn) weren't in the BCS until a few years ago. They weren't able to get a whole lot of NFL caliber talent because UConn was DIaa, and Cincy, USF and UL were in inferior conferences. I guarantee that if you wait 3 or 4 years the number of NFL players per team in the Big East will be up around the other BCS conference numbers. In 2009 The Big East had the most players drafted into the league per team than any other conference if memory serves correct.
I will agree though that we should wait til the 53 man roster is made to determine which conferences are doing the most with their talent.

He also called Auburn and Tennessee "bottom feeders" of the SEC when AU had an undefeated season this decade, and TN has a NC in the last 15 years... Plus, didn't south carolina beat OSU two years in a row?

The Big Ten has 38 National Championships, the SEC only has a measly 36. And that's with more teams LOL
Let me know when the SEC gets on the Big Ten's level, because as of right now they are fighting with the depleted Big 12 for 2nd best.
