Getting my nephew a car, its kind of beat up paint wise and I see these places advertising metallic and mica or pearl or plain or whatever the hell it is.

Can any car enthusiasts tell me wtf the difference is?

It actually didn't turn out too bad. Just bondo the rust spots and went to town with black spray paint and it turned out decent. I think I was 17 or so and didn't have the cash to actually get it painted.
