Bailey vs Monasterios

The real west coast trip has started, I think it's been 4 years since the Reds won in LA against the Dodgers. I miss the days of this rivalry.

Should be interesting to see which 2 out of Nix, Edmonds, and Stubbs get the start.

LA is 7 back in the wild card, so they will be giving it everything they have trying to stay alive and are also very good at home.

I see this as either the Dodgers sweeping the Reds or the Reds sweeping the Dodgers

Completely hypothetical question, I am in no way jinxing this team:

Say the Reds are in the playoffs, who are their first 3 starting pitchers, and will they pitch any more starters than 3?

Bronson, Johhny, and I would guess Volkie/Wood depending on matchups...Against the Phillies it would be Wood. Against say, the Padres, it would be Volkie on a very short leash.

Arroyo, Cueto, Volquez, Wood. Pretty simple IMO.

Arroyo, Cueto, Wood would be my first three guys right now.

Bailey pitcher VERY well at this point last season. From August 23rd to the end of the season he went 6-1 with a ~ 1.70 ERA. He could creep into that top 3 if he pitches like that again.

I take Wood over Volquez RIGHT NOW as well. Who is to say whether or not that will change when the time comes, but heck Wood has been close to best, if not the best pitcher since the all-star break. You should use your best pitcher...

Yeah it's far too early to talk about that other than Arroyo and Cueto barring injury. Wood could tire, and who knows about Bailey and Volquez.

and S&L, some series' you need only 3, some you need 4. It's pretty stupid how they do it but I believe the team with the best record gets to chose which schedule they want their series to be as far as the extra off day.

Looks like the Stubbs/Heisey and Stubbs/Edmonds platoons are history.

Did Heisey bang Dusty's wife or something? His playing time has seriously dwindled in the past week or 2.

Good question. I agree he should be getting more PT. I'm not sure why Laynce Nix became Dusty's boy all of the sudden

Need to get going early and make fewer mistakes than against Arizona.

horse shit Votto and Rolen

lucky to get Phillips on....he totally whiffed at a ball in the dirt for strike 3...but ump agreed with Phillips

Votto has to know that he can't be as good as he has been and is going to get anything good behind or even in the count......he was fooled badly on a pitch most of us knew was coming...Rolen looked retarded watching perfect pitches and then swinging after the ball hits the mitt.

Maybe Janish batting 14th will get the Reds going

I wish Keels would figure out how many syllables are in the last name of the Dodger's pitcher

so far he's been anywhere from 3-5
