oops..sorry forgot to add that conference in my post earlier....have some family from Wayne Trace so definitely familar with the GMC. I would be willing o bet that Tinora takes that conference crown again this year

In the NWC I would have to go with LCC as the favorites, with Ada, and Columbus Grove giving them some pressure. In the Western Buckeye League..gotta go with Kenton and their high scoring O, while the MAC....hmmm....head would tell me Delphos St Johns, but I am picking somewhat of a darkhorse in Versailes.

MAL Fremont St. Joe, Carey, Possibly Seneca East Hopewell-Louden, or Tiffin Calvert (pretty wide open) Even Mohawk much improved, Lakota has some talent, North Baltimore don't know much about past history says low numbers. My opinion is that the League although fairly balanced will be weaker overall than the last couple of years. St. Joe should be the clear cut favorite with 4 or 5 teams capable of grabbing the #2 spot. Probably 2 teams at most maybe only the League champ will make the playoffs this season.

Did not know a lot about the TAAC until Toledo Christian and Ada matched up last year. Yes I knew the teams but not very well their styles etc. Looking foward to Toledo Christian coming down to War Memorial Sadium in Ada this year..should be a pretty good game...with possible play off implications as these 2 teams could meet again later in season..

Hope Ada destroys TC, adog.

Tough for me to follow as much from far away, but I follow the NLL.

I'd argue the SLL is ahead of the TAAC in terms of consequence in the Toledo area, for now.

I'll take Genoa and Eastwood by several touchdowns over Toledo Christian and Ottawa Hills. I'd bet on it and it'd be the easiest money I'll ever make.

Calpreps seems to agree with me:
Genoa 52, Ottawa Hills 7
Genoa 48, Toledo Christian 17
Eastwood 42, Ottawa Hills 12
Eastwood 41, Toledo Christian 26

And for good measure, the SLL's 3rd best team:
Lake 27, Ottawa Hills 7
Lake 28, Toledo Christian 24

Northwood is pretty much the only TAAC team that can compete with the top of the SLL, JMO. I'm not saying the SLL is in any way balanced, but they are better than the TAAC in football.

I have followed NLL football for years as well as the SLL, TCL, NWOAL, Green Meadows, and several others, including the MAL and TAAC. I would agree with bwcomet89 in his appraisal of the various leagues around NW Ohio. I do think a little more of Lake than most however. I think it is entirely possible for the Flyers to win the Eastwood game. Whether it happens or not is anyone's guess right now, but I really like Coach Abbey's club.

^^^I know--I'm just pulling some of these guys' chains...to tell you the truth,though-even though the SLL would dominate the TAAC,IMO they're still one of the most under-achieving leagues in this part of the state.

Wrong again, I went to Eastwood. Not close to a Comet homer.

I do agree with this for the most part. Outside of Genoa and Eastwood, and Elmwood a few times, no one has really done much especially in the state playoffs.

^^I agree with that statement. Genoa made it to state 2 years ago, I believe the last team to do that was Otsego way back in the early 80's. I may be wrong, but as far as I know that's it. The SLL has had plenty of playoff appearances, but not much after that.
