E. Vólquez
3-1, 4.25 ERA

R. López
5-11, 4.93 ERA

Also, Cardinals trail the Brewers 3-0 in the 9th inning. Reds could be 2.5 games up before they play tonight.

An error by Fielder with 2 outs plates another run.

3-2 with 2 outs.

I wonder if Carpenter & Wainwright have ever lost back to back games this year yet before today?

Brewers coming through big for us. It would be nice to build some breathing room while the Cardinals are sputtering

3 game lead would be nice, have the Reds been up that much yet this season?

I'm just hoping Volquez looks good, I think he's the key to the rest of the year and any shot at a playoff run. He's getting close but still needs to lower his walks/pitch count especially early in the game.

Unfortunately, Volquez is always going to keep the bullpen on edge. Even at his best, he's a 6-7 IP pitcher because his pitch count is always going to be high. Just have to hope if he gives you 7 and it takes him 112 pitches, they don't score many runs, if any :)

If you're gonna copy all of john fay's stuff you should at least post that Dusty was offered an extension.

Still like the lineup with Jimmy at first.

Not good to start the most important road trip of the season with Joey having back problems!

Milwaukee's team is doing the job for us. Now, can Volquez get this one without throwing 200 pitches in 5 and one third innings? A three game lead would be huge.
