The Chiefs open up the season at Chieftains Stadium versus the Golden Gales! Logan's on a 29 game winning streak in regular season. Lancaster was the last team to beat the Chiefs in regular season play on August 24, 2007! Can Logan keep the streak going or will the Gales be the one to stop it? Logan's only returning 4 starters and coming in with a new head coach, that will be a lot to overcome. But I have a feeling they can do it! What's the Gales got coming into the year? I hear that they are expecting a lot of big things.

It's about time this thread is started. It seems pretty dead on here. I've actually had a pretty good feeling about this game since the end of last season. I think the kids will want to win this one for coach Wolfe to get his tenure off on the right foot. Also, 29 game regular season win streak is not the only streak on the line. The Chiefs are 12-00 at Logan Chieftain Stadium and I could be wrong, but I don't think Logan has ever won three in a row against Lancaster. So, there are lots of things to use to motivate the kids. Let's not forget that these kids have been hearing since the end of last season that this is going to be a rebuilding year--a chip on their shoulder? The same type of thing was said about the 2001 team (they 10-0 and nearly defeated Brady Quinn's Shamrocks in the 1st rd of the playoffs). Plus, for the first time in a long time Lancaster doesn't have a Carpenter boy in uniform. I think the Chiefs have a better than average chance in this one.

Tonight's Jamboree game against Sheridan should give an indication of the sort of physical toughness Logan has this year. If the Chiefs get man-handled by the Generals it could be bad news vs Lancaster

Sounds like we'll be able to listen to the games online after all! Just called the 98.3 radio station. The woman said they have had a lot of demand for it, and the station told her if she could sell so much, that they would do it. She sold 5 packets? So that means 500 users will be able to log in. Some guy from a company in Virginia was supposed to be there this afternoon to hook it all up!

Heard Lancaster dismantled one of the columbus schools (Independence maybe?) this past friday in a scrimmage something like 42-7 or 49-7. I think this one will be alot more evenly matched than many of you guys on here are thinking.

They beat up on Brookhaven. As for being closer than many of us are thinking, many of us are quite aware that this could end up being a loss for the Chiefs. I have heard anyone say that this wasn't going to be an evenly matched game. Chiefs are young and have a new head coach coming in, I'm not expecting big things, but trying to remain optimistic. This will be a test to see how the rest of the season will go for the Chiefs.

Easy man! I should have been clearer...there was a thread awhile back about Lancaster and how they might struggle this year...I wasn't meaning YOU guys like posting on the thread, I meant the group of people who thought they were going to struggle. I know it's going to be an evenly matched game and understand where ur coming from. It wasn't an attempt to bash the Logan fans at all.

LOL..didn't take it as a bash..no worries. Lancaster is going to be a solid team this year. Better than their record will indicate in my opinion b/c they have one helluva touch schedule. Their first 4 games will be brutal with Logan, West, St. Iggy, and Pick Central. Not to mention Pick North later on.

Awesome stadium I must admit, but the fog becomes overwhelming sometimes. Certainly has it's own atmosphere

From what I've read in the local papers Lancaster may be pretty decent this year. I'm not sure if they are out of Carpenters yet or not I think Georgie graduated last year but I'm not sure.

It sounds like the Gales will be solid this year, and they better be with that schedule. They are indeed finally out of Carpenters too.
