They are, but they aren't. They are one company but both kind of operate psuedo independently. Some channels are XM exclusive and some are sirius exclusive. There are also channels available on both and you can pay to get the ones you don't get because you are using XM

i love it ...but you can bargin with them to lower the price .... just ask the worst they can say over the phone is no.
Oh! make sure that you don't give then a credit card ...why be cause they will automatic withdraw when your payment is due without asking. I pay via a check
When your plan is up that when you can bargin with them for a lower price next time
