Come up to Chippewa tonight and bring your money. A bunch of guys would love to take it that are imaginary.
btw.. we've had 58 guys play in it this year. But lord knows that's gotta be a lie b/c u and mr golf club osu doesn't think people play in scratch leagues. You're allowed earning money from golf and playing in scratch leagues.. you don't have to be an amateur... So I'm not sure what kind of point you're trying to make. Besides letting everyone know you're an idiot.
lhslep134;453145 wrote:I think you're misinterpreting my reasoning.
If I was a scratch golfer, I wouldn't be wasting my time in some golf league in buttfuck, Ohio, I'd be somewhere else where I could play year round earning money for my golfing prowess (rather as a club pro or a player).
So yes, I have a hard time believing you have 30 scratch golfers in your league.
I've broken par more than 10 times, and I'm not close to a scratch golfer. Just because you can shoot 35 or better doesn't make you a scratch golfer. Do that EVERY time, and I doubt you're playing in the aforementioned golf league.

lhslep134;453150 wrote:I know exactly how it works. I've been playing in money games with my dad and his friends since I was 14 and could afford to lose $50 in a round (obviously the adults play for more money).
But you being the only person who is a scratch golfer doesn't make it a scratch league. 5 scratch players don't make it a scratch league.
Curiously, how many players in your league are actually scratch?

ZWICK 4 PREZ;453155 wrote:Considering its called "Monday Night Scratch League" and you play without handicaps.. it's a scratch league. I dunno all the guys' index. probably quite a few are scratch or they'd find another league.
Well like I said.. anyone wants to question it's validity can bring some money and play in it. Theres an osu alum (not club golf) that plays in it and played in the 2009 US Open and won last years Ohio Amateur. There's plenty of guys who won the Stark and Summit county amateurs. It ain't no joke league.lhslep134;453182 wrote:The semantics we're arguing over is a never ending argument.
I don't disagree necessarily with you, but moreso your leagues use of the word scratch, but this is how I always thought of it.
Using handicap? It's a handicap league
No handicap? It's a golf league
All scratch golfers? Scratch league.
Like I said, I know what a scratch (your leagues definition of scratch), but I would assume the majority of people would use a similar line of thinking as mine.
