One of my nephews just proposed to a girl he had been dating for two months. She accepted. They're going to get married in March and move into his parents basement.

No, she isn't. What's more, lot of my wife's family think this is a GOOD thing.

Oh - and Muggsy (sister in law number 5) just moved out from husband number six's trailer. She's only 45... she's still good for at least four more husbands, I'd say.

Does anyone else have in-laws like this? Or is this a freak environment limited to the southern part of Greater Louisville?

Parts of Louisville are, yes (basically north of Bardstown Road.

However, Bulliitt County and South Louisville are not. :)

Look at the bright side... gettin hitched after two months is better than gettin hitched after two weeks.

I guess all I'd do is try to enjoy the BYOB at the reception. Good times!

No In-laws like this, but this is the home of Quick Rick, so anything is possible when it comes to Louisville.

Who knows? Lady D'Friskies was the oldest of ten kids, her dad was the youngest of 10, and her Mom was the oldest of 8. Her family is probably related to half the population of Kentucky and Michigan by marriage - she has over 40 first cousins alone.

LOL - I love it how you tied Michigan in with KY. I guess it's true when the Big 3 were still churnin out cars - the three R's in KY were Readin' Ritin' & Route 23.

Yep - her dad's family moved from deeeeeeeep Eastern Kentucky to Michigan in the 40's to work at the Whirlpool appliance factories in SW Michigan. They gradually drifted back south over the years as things went to pot in THAT area - her Dad separated from an Army career at Fort Knox and settled there.

Let's not tell everyone that my wife was actually born in Michigan, OK? I might not be welcome at the OSU alumni meetings if words gets out.
