OSU declined, they had a previously scheduled date with Akron.

I value your opinion greatly.

Why not Michigan? You were clearly taking a shot at them. This game would pit two of the top 10 (conservatively) programs in history and would be a huge draw. If Jones is wanting to make make money, this is as good of a matchup as you can ask for.

Why not Michigan? Its not like they finished 10 out of 11 in front of Indiana in the Big 10 last year. Just because they beat Notre Dame, it doesnt make them a good team. Unless Jerry Jones is banking on Michigan being turned around by then, I dont understand it.

They are still a huge name and draw. That's what Jones is banking on. Even if they aren't completely turned around, Alabama/Michigan is going to be a huge matchup as far as tickets and revenue go.

I know it will be a large Alabama crowd...especially if UM doesn't show promise by then.

Its an awesome recruiting tool for UM though.

Michigan has the biggest stadium and sells it out every game. They have the best history in all of college football. They also are on the rise and are predicted by many to win at least 8 games this year. So by 2012 they may be a powerhouse once again. Your dumb comments about Michigan University tell me that you know nothing about the history of College football nor anything about business.

If this game were about competitveness, then Pick6 would have a point, why Michigan?

But this is about selling tickets while creating a buzz, and the name Michigan still sells tickets and creates a buzz, despite a pathetic showing the past couple years (sorry, I had to take ONE shot).

Bring in another big name school in Alabama and you'll have a guaranteed sellout.

Regardless of whether scUM can stay within 3 scors of Bama by that point, like others have said the matchup is all about money

Not so sure about that. It's a huge stadium, and there probably isn't a lot of interest in the state of Texas for either of these two schools. I'm a huge college football fan, but I wouldn't travel out of my town to go watch that game, especially if it's on a Saturday meaning I would miss all the other games.

I question why they would want Michigan too. He's going to have to pay Michigan an incredible amount of money, at least as much as they would make for a regular home game. Seems like it would make more sense to get one of the Texas schools or Oklahoma to play.

I watched Gardner and Inkster end Steubenville's 70 game regular season win streak. He is the real deal

Gardner is a HELL of a talent. My worry is that he won't get a chance if RichRod is canned.

Yes it was a joke. Although it might have been a bad one. Just looked at OSU's future schedules. Akron is on the schedule in 2011 along with Toledo and BG. Its Miami OH in 2012
