Big Will needed to redshirt but circumstances decitated that he had to play a little. Physically he was basicaly ready to play but as with most freshman d-tackle's he need's to work on his technique. An offseason with Barwis and another year to refine his technique and Big Will is gonna be whatever everyone thought he would be. Emilen was side tracked by some injuries and a slow recovery from his acl tear last season. Expect him to play major minutes next year at Safety. I also expect Justin Turner too take over JT Floyd's starting spot next to Warren. The best case scenario is that Mike Williams and Jordan Kovac's do not see meaningful minutes next year...... at all. Michigan is going to be going from paper thin in the secondary to one of the deepest and talented unit's in the big 10 by the end of next year.
I truely believe that in 2011 everyone and their brother is going to be saying WOAH what the hell happened to Michigan because they will be taking the big 10 by storm. Once the rebuild is over there are going to be alot of big 10 programs left in the dust by what Rich Rod has done. Alot of people including some Michigan fan's do not understand the process and just how bad the decay in the Michigan had become. Sure Michigan could have probably gone another 4-5 year's the old way before the wheel's completely fell off but the reward's from what's going on now will be felt for the next 5-10 year's.
I like floyd at CB, he played pretty well at times for a redshirt fresh. I would rather have floyd keep playing and have turner at the saftey position. Then after warren is gone if it is needed then move Turner back down to CB. I really don't think we will have to worry about seeing Williams or Kovacks playing on anything but special teams, they only played this year because of injuries early on. Hell robinson always called kovacks by the wrong name so he evidently isn't to high on him if he can't remeber his name and they finaly took williams out
