Heisey should remain in CF indefinitely. Unless he gives Baker a reason to bench him, i.e. a Stubbs-like megaslump, he should be the starting CF from here on. If Dickerson is brought up you can slide Heisey to the right and start Dickerson in CF if he can come close to his AAA numbers. Bruce is also essentially worthless at the moment and needs to ride the pine for a while.

Agreed.

wildcat...never disagreed once I heard it was on his neck......but I still say the Pirates' pitcher didn't know that info at the time of the Leake beaning.

I was wrong about how long McCutcheon was out...by a bit...but Duke still won the NCAA Championship

careful calling me out! lol

Bray did an outstanding job in the first and 3rd game against the Braves. Today he was concentrating on, and rightfully so, not walking anyone with that big lead!

Today the bad:

Phillips taking the Reds out of the first inning trying to steal on the 2-2 pitch. A hit and run try would be much beter, but a steal attempt with a jump that bad was terrible.

Hernandez popping out on the 2-0 pitch with Franciso on 3rd after a double and a sacrifice, taking them out of an easy run scoring situation.

Nix with terrible baserunning on a fly to deep center with bases loaded and no outs in the 3rd as he was thrown out trying to go to 2nd. On that play you have plenty of time to stop and go back if the CF properly chooses to throw to 2B and the throw looks decent.

Today the good:

Janish the big hit to tie the game with two out after the Hernandez blunder.

Franciso with 3 hits, two on off-speed pitches, and the RBI grounder to 1B with none out, moving both of the other runners up a base.

Reds adding on runs to make it easier for the pitchers.

The series:

Reds take themselves out of too many innings with bad baserunning and being too anxious to hit in key at bats.

Scoring was atrocious in favor of the hitters. Should have been errors on the Heisey homer, the Nix triple, the Rolen and Votto matador defense. I see the Reds are going to appeal to the NL to change the Rolen one to an error to save Leake six earned runs!

Janish and Heisey played well.

The Cards are taking it to the Stros...looks like the lead will stay at a 1/2 game

God Bless Paul Janish for his patience.....goodness

He could go 30 for 40 while Cabrera is out with 8 game winning RBI including 3 walk-offs and game saving defense and when Cabrera gets back he'll never see the field in front of Cairo or anyone else.......and then 25 games later get a few AB's for an injury or ejection and go 2/3.
