Double Dribble was the only basketball game not named NBA Jam that I ever liked.

North/South, a "Risk" type game but with the civil war. Was interesting.

Ghengis Khan, first turn based RTS on the NES, based on ancient Mongolian/Chinese empires, was a great game.

Guardian Legend was a great game too.

Marble Madness was one of those mind numbing but addicting games.

Blades of Steel, best hockey game ever.

Blaster Master was a fun game too.

I loved quite a few of the games already listed here, but I'll refrain from repeating them.

Justin, what's the name of that robot baseball game I have that you liked? If you're nice to me and don't already have it, I can probably toss it your way.

Base Wars!

Guardian Legend and Rygar are two other good choices that I saw mentioned by others. And Center, sad to say, but Illusion of Gaia is Super Nintendo. I owned that one. Very good game, but wrong system.

Little nerd fact for everyone.

The REAL Super Mario Brothers 2 was never actually released in the US. Apparently Nintendo of America hated the actual game, so they ripped off a game called "Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic". Search it on YouTube, it's literally the EXACT same game. A few years back, the SNES released "Super Mario Bros All Stars", which contained the actual SMB2.. which was hard as hell.

Lost Levels (original SMB2) was not that hard. In my opinion the US version of SMB2 was much harder, the hardest of all the SMB games for the NES. It was also kind of fun.

Yeah, even though 2 was completely different than the other Mario games, I thought it was very good.

Some of these aren't so great, but I played them nonetheless:

Pro Wrestling
Super Pitfall (old Atari Pitfall was better)
Arch Rivals (played the arcade version more)
M.U.S.C.L.E.
Hoops

If I remember correctly, wasn't the Texas team the best team on there?

Apparently, SOMEONE didn't spend more time playing this game in high school than studying for everything put together! You play this game like a job and you learn how to syncopate your button tapping for the slot-machine coin game for 1-UPs between levels. And you finish the game with 35-60 lives in reserve. OH. YEAH.

Damn...if only video game cool could translate to real-life cool... I'd be like Mike Jordan...

Oh I had the slot-machine down pat. However, even with that SMB1 was a joke, especially if you did the turtle on steps extra lives, and SMB3 could be beat inside of an hour. I mean you could warp right from world 1 to world 8.

lol, I only didn't mention the Tecmo/Tecmo Super Bowl because it had been mentioned multiple times.

By far my 2 favorite games for the NES were The Legend of Zelda and Metroid, but Tecmo Super Bowl was a close 3rd.

You know, that really is a "duh!" moment for me! Especially since I have the system and cartridge still.
