I'm looking to add a little snazz to the header up beside the logo. The sea of blue is getting a little boring for me.

I want to do something similar to the following:

I like the "faded" scene in the background with a few items in focus in the foreground.

Now, what the hell do I put up there?

Anyone have any good panoramic photos to use as the background? Ohio really doesn't have many prolific locations, I've decided, and I'm at a loss.

All ideas welcome.

Merge all of these skylines for the faded background:






Put some well renown things about Ohio in color in the front. Jesse Owens, Brutus, Neil Armstrong, Jim Brown, Ken Griffey Jr., etc. Have a 75/25 mix of sports heroes/national figures.

Will the header be the same throughout the site or would the individual forums have their own unique header? If its going to be the same throughout, what kind of panoramic photo would be able to tie in the Serious Business with all of the other sports stuff?

It would be the same throughout, which is why I just wanted to have a generic Ohio scene.

Probably. Not sure if it would be current athletes or historical athletes.

if you are gonna do that, the only logical option for the panoramic would be Holly Mangold.

My recommendation (or request) would be to make it a shorter banner so the page doesn't extend down so far. Something wider than it is tall would really help the functional viewing of the site.

I was actually thinking this last night. I could shrink the logo down a little bit and make the header shorter.
