Coshocton won R-15 last year... and promptly got steamrolled vs. R-16 the next week. They will probably be right up there again in 2010. I'm predicting R-16 to again win the state championship.

Apple, you must have overlooked it...AC at 10-0 easily won R15 last year.

Heath and Utica will make the playoffs this year. Heath has enough talent left, in a conference without a clear frontrunner, to make the playoffs again this year. Utica has their two toughest conference games (on paper) at home vs. Fredericktown and Loudonville. If they can get a win on the road at either Granville or Heath, they'll be in a great spot to try and win the conference and reach the playoffs this year. 2 years in a row of being 1 victory away from winning the conference and most likely making the playoffs both years has left a bad taste in quite a few mouths. I would say historically, you'd have to bet Ironton and AC will be up there again too. I don't know what Coshocton returns, but if they have some experience returning I would bet on them.

I must have misunderstood Red Skin... Did Coshocton make it to the state semis in 2009? That would mean they won their region I think, but I could be wrong. A-C probably easily won R-15 like you said with their 10-0 record. I probably have my regions and teams and years/seasons mixed up.

Coshocton won this Region last year. They beat West M, AC, and Ironton to advance to the state semis.

^^^This. Coshocton may have finished 5th in the final computer standings behind Amanda-Clearcreek but in head-to-head play they were Region 15 champs including a 15-12 decision over A-C.

I don't think the Skins have the horses to repeat this year but that's just MHO.

No, I misunderstood what you were saying. My apologies, I thought you were commenting on the regular season final standings with AC at 10-0 and Coshocton at 8-2. I didn't read the part where you said they won region 15 and THEN got beat the next week. I hope I don't need geritol or centrum already...

Heath returns nearly the entire D, and I believe 7 on the offense, not including Gresham and a couple of lineman. I am not worried about replacing Gresham at HB, as they have several options to fill the whole, including Scott and others with speed to burn. I am more worried about the loss of the linemen than anything, but I know they have options. I still have the same concerns about the team that have surrounded the program for the past several years.

With only seeing Heath play one game a year usually, my guess is your concerns center around the secondary and turnovers? They have very few weaknesses that I've seen, but the secondary is sometimes suspect and I've read and seen that they tend to turn the ball over some...if these aren't your concerns I would love to know them, either on here or in a PM...
