BYU improves to 8-0 and keep there National Title hopes alive. The Midshipmen of Navy looked as if they were going to pull this one out as they were only down 21-17 at halftime, but with all of the momentum. Navy scored 10 points in the last 53 seconds of the 1st half. Navy opened the 2nd half with the ball but on the 3rd play from scrimmage on a 3rd down, Ricky Dobbs forced a pass and Senior Andrew Rich made him pay by intercepting the pass. BYU offense was the forced to punt but Navy's return man fumbled the ball at the 10 and BYU recovered. BYU scored on a 3 yard option keeper by Riley Nelson to make it a 28-17 score. BYU offense tacked on another TD to open the 4th quarter to make it 35-17 and the scoring was done. Riley Nelson passed for 216 yards on 9-17 passing for 2 scores while JJ Di Luigi rushed for 99 yards and a score. Rickey Dobbs rushed for 137 yards and a score and passed for 119 yards with 1 touchdown in a losing effort. Coach Bucks had this to say after the win " I challenged our defense to not let them score in the 2nd half and that is exactly what they did, we know our offense is going to put up some points. We are now 4 wins away from our goal which was a undefeated regular season."

Of course we weren't even able to finish the game when there was still 5 mins remaining and I had the ball in the 2nd half. I don't even know how to explain it but we weren't able to finish the game so the fourth quarter had to be simmed. GG tho Bucks. My D is so bad lol

Yes I don't know how the 4th quarter would have finished but I don't think I would have lost the game. I was up 3 scores, and I was able to move the ball pretty good with the short passing game.

Southern Miss falls to 2-7 with a 42-35 loss to Tulane on the road. Turnovers and miscures were the difference in the 2nd half as two fumbles enabled the Green Wave to jump out to a 28-14 lead and never look back.
Coach Darby: "Turnovers and dropped balls were the key tonight, and we just couldn't get a stop after them to kind of quell the momentum shift. I'm proud of the way some of my guys played but we had some guys, espcially on both fronts who didn't show up, and that has to change before next week."
