Very interesting. Several people have been saying more or less the same thing as Sabato predicts. It's going to be a very interesting election day, that's for sure!
"2010 was always going to be a Republican year, in the midterm tradition," Sabato said in his latest prediction, issued Thursday. "But conditions have deteriorated badly for Democrats over the summer. The economy appears rotten, with little chance of a substantial comeback by November 2nd. Unemployment is very high, income growth sluggish, and public confidence quite low. The Democrats' self-proclaimed 'Recovery Summer' has become a term of derision, and to most voters—fair or not—it seems that President Obama has over-promised and under-delivered."
If the Republican wave on November 2 is as large as some polls are suggesting it may be, then the surprise on election night could be a full GOP takeover. Since World War II, the House of Representatives has flipped parties on six occasions (1946, 1948, 1952, 1954, 1994, and 2006). Every time, the Senate flipped too, even when it had not been predicted to do so. These few examples do not create an iron law of politics, but they do suggest an electoral tendency."

The House will be a landslide...50 seats minimum...probably closer to 60. Close but no cigar in the senate...if every star lines up right the best the Pubs do is 51-49. My money is on 52-48.

Major player my ass. Do you ever actually read the stuff you write in the white box before you hit the post button? Kasich gets pretty close to 50% credit for the closest thing this country has had in a generation to a balanced budget. Call me silly, but I'm inclined to give him a shot.

Do you even know what his position was at Lehman? Lehman Brothers was an international financial services corporation. Again clue us in on where he ranked on the international totem pole. Kasich is a good choice for Ohio, IMO.
I'm happy knowing that when i return Strickland won't be there any longer.

Strickland is also proving to be perhaps the most inept campaigner in Ohio history. I realize it's hard to run on that record, but every single one of his campaign ads so far have been negative, desperately trying to make hay out of the "Kasich was in bed with eeeeeeeeevil Lehman Bros." schtick, (complete with scary music and announcer speaking in hushed, fearful tones lol) despite the fact that Ohioans obviously don't care.
Kasich skillfully brushed these pathetic accusations aside with his first ad, and has then since run a 90% positive campaign. His only mention thus far that could be construed as negative is Strickland's record on jobs. Hell, Strickland hasn't even shown his own mug in a single ad that I've seen.
I realize it's an uphill battle, but Teddy is acting like he doesn't even care if he wins at this point.

Have you taken a look at Kasich's education plan?? Pretty scary and I would think enough for someone not to vote for him

Isn't the state already there?
I left Ohio in 2007, so I haven't been paying too much attention. But, from talking with my family, who are from Portsmouth (Strickland's home), they are probably going to vote for Kasich simply because Strickland has ticked off the wrong people and made horrible decisions in their minds. That includes SOCF cuts in the wrong areas, not taking on education, budget cuts in some areas but not others, etc.

I don't need to see into the future to know Kasich's education plan is going to cost this state thousands of jobs when all he's been preaching is adding jobs...you can go read it it you don't believe me

Of course you will never find any waste in education. Maybe it is time a few teachers lost their jobs or took some cuts. We all know the private sector that supports them has lost plent already.
Personally I am for an acrossed the board budget cut for the state budget. Everyone pitches in during these tough economic times.

Notice what they didn't include in there ptown...the fact that he wants to eliminate ATLEAST HALF of the state's schools and districts
