Everything's built on that! That's all we got, boy, fuckin' all. So I hope you know that, even if you don't never know the rest! You count the damn few times we have been together in nearly twenty years and you measure the short fucking leash you keep me on - and then you ask me about Mexico and tell me you'll kill me for needing somethin' I don't hardly never get. You have no idea how bad it gets! I'm not you... I can't make it on a coupla high-altitude fucks once or twice a year! You are too much for me Gibby, you sonofawhoreson bitch! I wish I knew how to quit you. "

Gibby: [crying] "Well, why don't you? Why don't you just let me be? It's because of you Mike, that I'm like this! I'm nothin'... I'm nowhere... Get the fuck off me! I can't stand being like this no more, Mike."

I'm guessing that's a line from the movie. If so, that made me LMAO.

Okay, so...did you look all that up? 'Cause......it'd be kind of ironic if you were gay-joking someone by reciting gay scene lines off the top of your head.

So, in the quote, Gibby is a girl? I mean, I completely stereotyped the scene because in the quote Gibby is talking to Mike, who are presumably two dudes. You can see my confusion, right?

Nah, just tired of Keebler. Wanted to just be simple. Fortunately, nothing I've done has been banhammer material yet but I've probably pushed it a few times.

For the record, I only kinda remembered one line, so I looked up the whole quote.
Yes, I did watch the movie.
Yes I'm a girl.

Gibby = Gibby
Mike = MJ

Yeah, that's all cool. But it'd been a lot cooler if a girl was quoting a lesbian scene....or acting it out in my living room.

Yeah, while I enjoyed the goofing around for about 3 pages, this wasn't exactly what I had in mind when I started this thread!

I still think it has to be Oklahoma City personally. None of the other things seem to have that kinda impact to me.

So, what is everyone's idea of a "signature" moment? There's been some good back and forth about the impact of certain things and obviously there are different angles. Is the signature moment something

For example, (keeping in mind we're putting 9/11 aside) if we say the signature moment was Oklahoma City, what does that say about the generation? Though it was memorable and perhaps up to that point unfathomable, did it demonstrate or symbolize anything greater? Did we change as a society as a result?

The Berlin Wall, I kind of get as a "signature" because it was a statement moment that symbolized a broader acceptance of what some of us see as American values(?) or philosophy(?). The entire world had changed and the image of the wall coming down was kind of the snapshot that summarized it all.
