And that being said, if I were going to give it to someone right now (there is still football to be played) but I'd have a hard time not giving it to Spiller. Without him Clemson is bottom feeding.

1a. Spiller
1b. Keenum

In my mind it should go to one of those two.

Would anyone consider Terrelle Pryor a Heisman front runner? No? Yeah, I didn't think so.

There was a thread started last week comparing Pryor's numbers to Tebow's. It was a legitimate comparison then, and it is now as well.

Terrelle Pryor

1828 Passing Yards - 16 TDs - 10 INTs - 55.8% Comp Pct.
142 Carries - 707 Rushing Yards - 5.0 YPC - 7 TDs

Tim Tebow

1945 Passing Yards - 14 TDs - 4 INTs - 65.0% Comp Pct.
178 Carries - 706 Rushing Yards - 4.0 YPC - 11 TDs

Looking at things on a statistical basis, Tebow and Pryor have had VERY similar seasons. Obviously Tebow's team has had more success, but his Heisman in 2007 should show that team success shouldn't be a deciding factor. I'm not trying to say that Pryor is better than Tebow or that he should be considered for the Heisman. My point is this. We all know that Pryor has had a decent season, but he shouldn't sniff the Heisman, yet Tebow is somehow considered to be the favorite for this award. How can that be?

You know the mad love for Tebow the media has...that's all there is to it.

Pryor has had six more int's which really sways the boat in Tebows favor...

Right. Tebow has been a little better than Pryor. Does that mean he deserves the Heisman? Of course not. But like you said, the media is obsessed with Tebow so they're going to push for him to win the award.

Golden Tate should be in the mix of it imo. I hate ND and think Tate comes off as a cocky SOB but he has dominated in almost every game for them this year.

Golden Tate - Notre Dame

83 Receptions - 1,295 Yards - 12 TDs
24 Carries - 171 Yards - 2 TDs
1,466 Total Yards - 14 TDs

Very impressive numbers.

I still think McCoy has it buttoned up.

The vote could have easily gone his way last year, Bradford was only slightly better. Both came back for another season and while Bradford was injured, Tebow puts up his workman like numbers (some might say "system like") McCoy comes back and puts up a ridiculous 73%. He's not done anything to hurt his position for the award, and with Tebow having a decent season, he already has one, the nod in the voters eyes will go to the senior who had a great junior season, stayed for his senior season and will in all likelyhood lead them to a Title shot.

73%...it's hard to ignore

I am not sure if we would be bottom feeding. His backups play 1/2 the game due to his injuries. But the added value when he is in is unmeasurable.

Agree about Tate. Unfortunately, ND just has way too many losses for him to get serious consideration.

As others have said, McCoy and Ingram. It's a two-horse race IMO. Spiller had a helluva year though.

Don't forget about Gerhart yet. He still gets a game against ND's defense. He might put up 250+ and 4 or 5 TD's.

And a punt return for a TD too. Like ewok said, ND has lost too many games for Tate to even get a sniff at an invite let alone the trophy.

I hope this poll has some validity. Tebow in 5th place is soooo sweet! Colt deserves it so far.

I am not sure about that guy. What if Tebow threw for 400 yards and rushed for 200 on bama? What if Spiller had 250+ in the next two games (or Ingram). Can't be discounting people yet.
